Tories won't like City supporting a Labour council.I think that means we’ve repaid roughly £80m to MCC for their £22m investment, not including the value of Maine Rd which they also got.

Yes they can and it is a big bone of contention in the domestic housing field.Surely the land rent will increase with each extension, a leaseholder can change the amount elwith different planning, that’s why I bought my freehold as old leasholds of £5 a year can be increased massively if you want to build an extension
It was a fantastic deal for Manchester which has leveraged billions of pounds of investment into the city at a time when other regional UK cities were being starved of investment. Probably the smartest move ever made by any local authority in this country. No wonder the snidey London media has been carping about it ever since.Compared to an overall cost in Manchester of £300m which included numerous venues and the running costs of the games.
It’s been quoted that the games brought inward investment to the city of double that by 2008 and it’s gone up exponentially since the MCFC takeover by the sheikh.
They might if they were boring enough to give a hoot about politics. ;)Tories won't like City supporting a Labour council.
Announcement today by Andy Burnham. A new train station. And underground plans. BBC News North West.
A new train station where exactly? Underground plans as in an underground train system?
It's about right, all these years for having a straight run, now they're thinking about an underground when they've chucked all the high rises up with all deep pilingJust that reported on BBC North West News.
Waiting for Burnham to make the details public.
If the underground is true, I'd guess it could be in the city centre connecting Victoria train station to Piccadilly Train station. Or it could be the new underground train station which is still proposed at Piccadilly Train Station.
As for the brand new train station, that's anyone's guess. It could be at the Etihad on the existing and under used line, or at United, as part of the Old Trafford redevelopment.
Just checked Burnham's X/Twitter page. No updates yet.
