That's mental, could probably fit 4 maybe 5 cars there at a push, but no let's build a 20 story hotel on it.
That site has be prime for development for years. I'm just glad it's finally going to hide that pile of sh*t behind it on GAS.

Some posters are alluding the NS will mirror the SS. I'll be very disappointed if that is true and it happens. Not saying they are, but I hope they're wrong.
I know I'm a stuck record, but this is the club's last chance to create a proper home end, not another 3 tier SS. The club pretty much has a blank canvas to create an amazing stand with enough land at the back of it to incorporate bars, food outlets, a possible hotel, an Indoor fan area/village, etc linking it to Joe Mercer Way and the Coop Live Arena.
Like the CFA, I just hope the club has the vision and monies to create a stand that will blow us away and inspire us. To see another SS replicated would be an absolute travesty.
I had a look back over the planning application for the SS and NS expansion earlier. The supporting feasibility work involved to date has covered a variety of scenarios up to and including future expansion of the East and Colin Bell Stands. The corner designs for the South Stand have been engineered so that they can be removed to accommodate side stand expansion in the future with the options being either for complete redevelopment of the whole stand, or (most probably) re-design of the third tier.
Based on that I'd expect that they've not even considered doing anything else to the NS, particularly with the current cost of materials/construction in general. I agree with you wholeheartedly. It's a particular shame when you see the proposals at Everton for example, the Spurs stadium and some of the other projects the have been carried out. However, let's wait and see. I'm sure they know how fans feel. I'm very excited about what the ground might look like with the side stands expanded by the way - it would be one hell of a structure and probably up towards the 75-80k mark then. They'll be too high up for the cameras to spot the empty ones too!
Putting to one side the NS design, it's also vital the external proposals are nailed with this expansion. Again, Everton's new ground features some nice, covered areas and is forming a destination on the waterfront. The proposals for the Riverside stand at Fulham look stunning and similarly have GF bars/cafes/restaurants which can secure business on non-footballing days as well. Our ground isn't quite the same in location terms but there's still huge opportunity to create a destination there.
Have on very good authority that the land accommodating the Merc garage has been acquired by Kickair. This ‘from the horses mouth’ though im sure most will know this info
North stand extension starts as soon as the arena is finished
It will mirror the south stand (no ‘yellow wall’)
It will incorporate hotels and eateries etc and the superstore.
City square and the superstore will go in its current guise but will be re-done.
Superstore within the stand, square pushed further back.
There will be eatery/bar links to the arena from the stadium
Probs a titanic post this but got told on saturday by a man who knows
Oh and city bought that merc garage and that will be hotel/housing

Please don't shoot the messenger but this info is, as far as I am aware through work contacts, cast iron 100%.
Due to the sensitive nature of this info, please don't pester for sources and the like, as I cannot accommodate but I must insist (due to the usual Bluemoon pile ons) I am not wumming.
Take it or leave it as you will, has absolutely no effect on my life whatsoever.
Just thought I'd share in good faith.

Probably? Or possibly? Big difference. Seems like you are taking the piss although it is admittedly very difficult to judge context by a post on a forum, so apologies if I have read your riposte wrongly.Ok mate youre probably right

Thanks.
Would make sense if they see the wider Etihad Campus as a future leisure destination.
There's also a young and financially well off (tech, IT, etc) population in the city centre looking for a but of fun and with money to burn. Might try it myself. :-) FOC-Kickair-sprained ankle.
A one tier stand was never going to be the agreed option.
Many on here won’t like it but without corporate options the stand doesn’t get built. It’s only viable if it there are corporate elements to it and a one tier stand would not only not offer anything new - but would also see existing boxes ripped out. That was never gonna happen.
With the huge increase in demand for tickets this season, they are rinsing tourists with general admission seats on tier 3, with a standard meal at Goucho or Vermillion for £500 !!!! That’s mental but shows the demand. I can most of L2 being semi corporate or corporate within a couple of years of new stand completed with an equivalent of legends in the middle of the new development.
It won’t make a difference to atmosphere. It’s the people that matter - not the stands or layout.
If and when the success cycle tails off, those corporates will be gone. But the new local hardcore that would fill those 1 or 2 tier (safe standing) seats would stay once hooked.
City need to be very careful who they target and who they want.
The priority should be young fans, families, and City fans who have given up going but want to come back again. They won't be doing that paying £150 for a match ticket, a meal, a drink, and a match programme.

If as we have been told a new stand has an increased capacity of 8000 - then a lounge similar to the Legends would only account for 450 seats. If and when the success cycle tails off, those corporates will be gone. Woah mate im doing nothing of the sort! Your info seemed better placed than mine thats all so i was agreeing that youre probably right!Probably? Or possibly? Big difference. Obviously you have good info through people you know and speak to and I have no reason to doubt anything you post. I have only ever posted once before with cast iron information and that referred to City bidding for Jamie Vardy, which was bollox. A relative of mine (a CEO at an EFL club) knew his agent and at the time it was Chelsea bidding, not us.
Anyway mate, don't, in any way shape or form, want to fall out with a fellow blue over something that we have no control over (especially, if you own Kickair!). The development of the collar site is of interest to many of us and in my opinion the more genuine information posted the better.
Let's all just raise a glass to complete and utter domination.
