Etihad Campus, Stadium and Collar Site Development Thread

I though the roof only had a limited lifecycle anyway? 25 years or something?
It’s certainly leaking quite badly in some parts of the East Stand now. The lad who sits in front of me gets dripped on loads when it rains, it does his head in.

I always imagined the top center of the east and west stands would set the total height all the way around the stadium, with a new cantilevered roof and fascia to the outside giving an Alianz look.
You could raise level 1 of the North stand, one summer from the maintenance entry around to the other side, allowing for a single tier when the roof is replaced and further extensions done.
Or do we build another stadium

I’m suggesting that to add a tier to the E & W stands doesn’t make economic sense
Perhaps. I'm no bean counter but the E & W roof will surely be replaced when the N stand is started. They were very clever when building the S stand which doesn't touch the previous cable net system, the corners were meant to be temporary until the rest of the roof was done (originally planned for 2016 BTW). I can see a unified design in it's entirety replacing the remaining 3 sections.

Can't remember who posted it. I'm sure somebody did. City/CFG and OVG are investing in a fleet of elevtric buses for the Coop Live Arena. Can anyone confirm that's true or is it just my imagination? Thanks.
I’m sorry but this is fantasy ! Not a chance that this would ever happen.

Manchester buses will be under public control by 2025 and hopefully better match day / gig night scheduling will happen.

But the idea of the Co-op or City buying a fleet of buses is ridiculous.

It’s up to the Metro and Bus people to provide a service fit for purpose. I’m sure the extra footfall of the arena will give them sufficient persuasion

It will be pretty hard for Co-op to fail, with the bar being that low + having a good team behind with also Live Nation. Speaking of getting a pint maybe the club should implement the system Spurs have in their stadium?

From an environmental point of view building a new stadium and knocking something that was built originally 21 years ago is madness and more importantly not cost effective. It’s demonstrated that this stadium can be expanded, we have a nice ground sometimes people take that for granted. There’s not really a bad view unless you are sat on the front few rows and we don’t have the leg room issues you get where they cram them in at the swamp. The hospitality is up there with everywhere else in the premier league, the Tunnel club looks like you are walking into a five star hotel not a football ground.
