Etihad Campus, Stadium and Collar Site Development Thread

Chelsea have 2 Hotels. Think 1 is part of the stadium, and the other Hotel is next to the stadium? From what I remember the Hotels haven't made a profit. Stand corrected on that. Chelsea were going to demolish the Hotels as part of the proposed new stadium, which never happened.

Big difference is that any hotel built as part of the potential stand development at the Etihad won’t just have a 25-30 home football matches - but also 5 or 6 outdoor gigs and 120 gigs at the Arena to cater for ( not to mention ladies matches and the other sporting facilities within a a few yards ). That’s 150-200 events even before they have any of the usual hotel functions and people using it for Manchester City Centre.

Surely a no brainer to build it.

Good point.

Development of the Collar site into a leisure destination, if that is still the preferred option, will require another Hotel/s.

An expanded NS including a hotel will have to have a large footprint, unless it's a highrise Hotel on the back of the NS stand that overlooks the pitch and Etihad stadium. That would look immense. With Sheikh Mansour and ADUG you never know what to expect. Anything is possible given the money available and the ambition.

The best place for a hotel would be behind the east stand with a walkway across to a corporate area on level 2.
can be a 5 star and a 4 star mix, could include a casino also.

A hotel would solve the hassle of getting back to town after a night match. Book in for b&b and set off in the morning when the trams are quiet. No need to leave at 80 minutes anymore to get the one bus a fucking hour from Shudehill in our 24-hour city. (Well, it does definitely have 24 hours.)
