All part of the attraction of buying city wasnt it?
Without these development opportunities , no interest in the city buy out ?
Mentioning Swales & pie together takes me back. Used to go in the Blue Room in the Main Stand after games as a kid when Swales was in charge. The tea ladies would always look after me & my pal, feeding us slices of some proper special tasting pie, whilst our dad’s were minglingHe needs the Peter Swales treatment - a boiling hot cup of tea and a pie (preferably still in a microwave) throwing in his direction on a match day.
Yep the blue paint and some of the concrete walkway surrounding the stadium is looking really shabby in places nowLooks like it needs a good lick of paint

Talking with two Geordie mates out here and they said the same has you. The only way they could expand is to flatten the ground and rotate the footprint 90 degs. But that would be a good 2 to 3 year rebuild and a ground share with a team who like black cats and wear red and white stripes. You can tell its a fan mock up because the whole ground is extended and levelled. They aren't able to redevelop the whole ground as there are listed buildings directly behind the stand running along the pitch and those have a "right to light". They may redevelop and extend the gallowgate end at some point but it is supposedly to be cost prohibitive to do so.
I mean yes, but that mock up isn't even St James' Park - it's on the site of the current Utilita Arena. Newcastle's new owners have ruled out moving, so file this one under "new stadium on Asda car park".You can tell its a fan mock up because the whole ground is extended and levelled. The decontamination was carried out on a Partnership basis.A lot of the land sold was contaminated n’all, don’t forget. It had to be treated and decontaminated to be fit for use. MCC didn’t do this, the Sheikh’s companies did it.
I think Ashley sold some land behind the gallowgate end which is now a hotel so they’re pretty much fucked in regards to expanding.Talking with two Geordie mates out here and they said the same has you. I think that was the reason why John Hall wanted to build a new stadium and use St James Park for the Rugby team.Talking with two Geordie mates out here and they said the same has you. Lol, that would be some ground-share that would!Talking with two Geordie mates out here and they said the same has you. They could just pretend it’s still the 1980s, and then all of their fans would fit in Gateshead’s ground.Talking with two Geordie mates out here and they said the same has you.
