Etihad Campus, Stadium and Collar Site Development Thread

Supercity88.

Maybe?

We won’t know until the sale details are released.

City will know the market value of the land. C&W will have a valuation of the land as well. 100% a deal can be reached before it goes to market. I’m not saying it won’t go to market

Aren’t City via Manchester Life involved in the Holt Town proposal next to the Etihad Campus? There’s always been rumours that Sheikh Mansour has bought parcels of land in and around the Holt Town area.

Wasn’t selected.

The Council still own the majority of the land around there, but no reason we're not involved behind the scenes and will be selected as a partner to help deliver their ambition for the area.

My point on National Grid is that as Cushman's are instructed to dispose of the land which suggests we haven't been able to, or haven't wanted to do a deal off-market. Even if it does get marketed there's no reason we won't get it if we want it, often it's just part of the game and the landowners get given a guide price which they take as gospel and it requires marketing for them to realise that was a pipe dream (pun intended).

It might just be National Grid's policy for disposing of sites, they might have to take them to market for their shareholders to show best value.

If we want it, which you'd imagine we will, we'd get it.

Plenty parking and free other side of Ashton Old Road. 15 minute walk.

Will use it again for Eagles gig next Friday :)
Eagles were fantastic. Doobie Brothers weren’t bad but only knew 2 of their songs. £3.80 for a can of coke!! Tip top tip. If you want some merchandise (tee shirts £40), either do it during the Doobies, or in the interval…

From memory most of the land from Victoria Station out as far as Miles Platting and possibly further is/was owned by the CWS (coop) all the warehouses were theirs possibly why the arena is called the CooP Arena was it part of the deal

That picture shows perfectly how much additional land could be added to the current back car parks, and the additional car parking income it could produce on match days and for the Coop Live Arena.
Also there's a tunnel under the railway leading to New Viaduct Street that could be used for access to the extended car park

You mean near Aldi towards edge lane? That's where I usually park, just outside the residents zone

Also near Ashbury train station, next to the Youth Centre and along the main road that leads to the Monastery. About a 10-15 minute stroll to the Etihad.

It won’t be long until this iconic landmark is gone.

With regards to parking, we usually park on Gorton Road on the other side of Ashton Old Road. The only trouble is that there’s an awful lot of broken down cars on the road from the scrap yard there.
