Cricket ground at the very top?

Yes. It's a cricket ground. This was produced by the architects Sheppard Robson in 2004: http://www.sheppardrobson.com/projects/page.cfm?projectID=100151. It shows the proposed Super Casino on the collar site, a new home for Lancashire CCC and improved tennis/athletics facilities. All of this is very old stuff and has long been superseded - LCCC opted to stay at Old Trafford and 2007 that the House of Lords rejected the Super Casino Bill, with Gordon Brown's government deciding not to pursue the matter.

A few years back there was talk of Lancs CC moving to Eastlands. They decided to stay at OT and develop instead. Top of picture could be the proposed cricket ground at the time.....

They were well and truly preparing for the redevelopment of the South Stand this weekend. Loads of hoardings and people being redirected etc.

Future coller site ?

That must be an old pic, there's no expanded stadium and not even the bridge to the academy. Didn't we nix the ideas for a rugby stadium (that's the only thing I can think that the thing at the top might be) a while back, too?

Also did not Manchester City Council make a offer to LCCC for a site in East Manchester for them to build a new ground this was before they decided to stay at Old Trafford. Sorry playing catch up must keep up to date before posting.

Think the posts above confirm that, yeah.
