Just posted this on SSC, in reply to a post.

Obviously I guessing, but In think it's a half decent guess. :-)

I posted this video a while back(some of you may remember it?) as I thought this is how one or both stands will be expanded.

From the back upwards and across. The roof will then go across and eventually meet up with the existing roof.

The club has stated no fans will be affected by the expansion. That tells you all you need to know. Build the stand/expansion from the back and upwards, configure it externally to the current stadium design, and then add the new roof, connecting it to the current roof. And while that goes on, so do the matches.

Pretend their East Stand is City's South Stand.

The fans are still watching the matches while construction is taking place.

The exterior of the old stand is still in place and in front of it is a new internal concourse. This is what City will do. The two large supports holding up the roof are being kept and will be inside the new internal concourse.

You can see that clearly in the render. (enlarge)

Anyone know how many we are up to on the waiting list?

I registered 1 today the young lady at the ticket office said "about 3500" e-mail says list number 3522.

Thanks for that.

That's enough for the South Stand.

Will it be enough, and is there still extra demand for the North Stand 3rd tier as well?

Personally I have my doubts.

The thing about the waiting list, how many are new supporters and how many are people already with season tickets. If the large percentage is relocations we aren't actually gaining.

3500 people prepared to pay £100 for something that's 2/3 years away isn't bad, I would imagine there's that number again who want a season ticket but prefer to hang on to there £100 until closer the time . Then there will be the new fan intake and walk up sales, I'd recon on a average of a extra 10k regally on our current attendance with the bigger games selling out.

?

You don't need to go on the waiting list to relocate. There is a relocation window every year if you wish to move

I'd say we need at least 4000 new season ticket holders for the South Stand expansion.

A bit of a simplistic breakdown.

South Stand 3rd tier. Capacity 6000.

4000 new season ticket holders.
1000 matchday ticket goers
1000 away fans.
That leaves an extra 1000 seats in the current away end to be filled as well.

TBH I thought the initial demand would have been much bigger, if that figure stated is correct?

Maybe I've misunderstood it, I thought the club were giving existing supporters the chance to move to the new stands and pay the 100 pound deposit. When you do this, do you not get added to the waiting list number for the new stand or does the waiting list numbers just relate to people without season tickets applying for any ticket in the ground.

That's true GX, but many on here and others will relocate from level 2 after being priced out.

Wonder if some of those People are included in that figure, or if it's new season ticket holders only?

Weren't current season ticket holders given priority on the new and cheaper season tickets?

Personally I think 3500 registered and it's not until 2015 is a tremendous start, you could easily double that by 2015, so to I believe they will expand both ends at the same time.
