Really like this one. It's got a bit of Abu Dhabi style architecture...a dash of that Zaha Hadid to it.

The supports still look a bit odd on all the renders I've seen. Bit like when computer games environments go a bit awry (or at least how they used to). When they poke through the internal section to the exterior, I'm guessing they'll need a hefty amount of wet room grade silicone!

More than a few hints that further expansion in the future has been given serious thought. I'd like to think one day it could surpass not only Old Trafford (even with that daft 'cloud' supporters area shown last week) and the part time Twickenham venue...

I like it - looks like the crown on the Statue of Liberty!

911, Statue of Liberty...the conspiracy theorists are going to have a field day over this...unless it's a clue for something Tolmie? :)

Actually, I see what you mean...a bit like the Planet of the Apes poster...a bit...

That looks shocking, like the old Kippax, I thought we'd moved on. Lets knock it down and start again. Make it 100,000 seater so we can F OFF Wembley, also put a roof on it so Lionel and our other World class players don't get wet (we can always play our second team away from home)
Plus let's get a MUEN posting correspondent on this site who is not a rag so he can write all the positives from the ETIHAD !

Good time to be Blue.

It's ALWAYS a good time to be Blue

Really ??? you missed the 70's then ;-) (I do know what you mean though) I just couldn't resist.
The 70's were OK up until big Mal came back...

Ahhh, but the 80's & 90's...

It just makes what's happening now even more surreal.

For thirty years from 1976 it felt like we were the resistance fighting the evil empire, last 6 years feels like we won the war and it's time to party

On that Manchester City Council Public Access page, there's a comments section but all of them say "Comment not available for publication". Can anyone expand on this? Will the comments be made public? Can they be viewed elsewhere?

Hope the Coal Authority's comment wasn't to say that it's all going to fall into a big hole in the ground!

Given that we do extend ALL around the existing stands, and obtain an estimated capacity of 70-72k

could we replace the 4 corner TV quadrants with seating, I reckon that could easily gain us over 2k per corner sending us over the 80k level

or has this been dismissed earlier in other posts

The screens could be replaced with one of those 4 screen combinations hanging over the centre of the pitch, like in Sweden which Joe Hart hit with a kick once.
They could be attached to the roof support pillars for stability

Or a cheaper option could be hanging the screen from the top of the stands (similar to how Spurs have the TV screens in their proposed new stadium pics)

I can see them having one of those centre screen combo's but I hope they don't. They're too american for me, not sure why that is an issue but in my opinion a couple of screens in the corners are enough. I'm not even that arsed about having any screens, as long as we have a scoreboard I can wait til I get back on the concourse before I watch the replays, when everyone turns to watch the replays I think it kills the post goal atmosphere a bit.

I think those big screens hide the slightly awkward (temporary) corners and supporting ironwork - I'll try and work out how many seats could go in each corner to see what would be needed to get up to and past the magic 75,700 mark...

Update - looks like there is space for 26 rows of seats in each corner - so the only question to ask is how many seats in each row - normal block widths allow around 30 - if these were the same, then we'd be looking at around 750 seats in each corner, 3000 in total, pushing the overall capacity to a shade over 75,000. Not enough! :-(
