In truth they know their constituency is not exclusively stupid but they do believe it is predominantly stupid. They are asking the British people to leave the largest trading block in the world, it is simply madness without a viable alternative

The madness could have been avoided had they come up with a viable alternative, but they have none, absolutely none. The idea we can blissfully carry on as if nothing has happened were we to leave, trading happily with our European neighbours on our terms with none of the costs or beastly EU interventions is simply absurd, how stupid do you have to be to swallow that?

Answer...Very stupid indeed.
When someone calls everyone else stupid, you know they have no argument at all.

There is no argument to lose.

When there is no argument proposed that makes any sense beyond the visceral, the emotive, the fabricated and the reactionary and yet you still buy in to it, then you either have an agenda you'd rather not talk about, a perverted sense of our position in the world or are very stupid.

We might very well leave the EU, but I know and so do you, that what comes next is anyone's guess, the leavers are either incapable or deliberately obtuse about what is to come.

Are you referring to the in or out argument?

Which is?

When change from an existing state is suggested, the onus is not on those who stand still to justify their position but on those advocating change, how the new position is more desirable than the present one. You see it in advertising in the classic "new and improved".

The leavers are advocating change with no vision of this "new position" whatsoever and no "new and improved" message worth a damn.

This is not a nuanced argument, there is not an argument to answer on the leavers side, all they have is a rejection of what they perceive to be "the state we're in" assuming that they have identified correctly that state, which they haven't, with their apocalyptic ramblings, but even if they were bang on the button on where we are now, they've still got to justify change, a momentum to a better future and they simply cannot or will not do that.

The reason these Europhobes having been banging on about the evils of the European Union for years is not because they get what these sneaky foreigners are up to and we don't, no, they've been repeating this message over and over with such ferocity because they can't sell it.

This is the brexit argument you're on about isn't it? Sorry if I'm being a bit stupid.
