What was being said the way I read it is we've lost the argument but if we get within 5% we will claim victory even though we lost.
I never liked it 15 years ago when only losing by one to the rags was seen by some as a moral victory . Defeat is defeat
Don't worry, you clearly don't get it do you? Not worth trying to explain!

.... it is isn't it.... Ever walked down Seven Sisters Road North London?

BTW that's Tottenham away for those that need prompting.... And there is an element irony to the original post here, for those that may be offended!

Haha! Yes I am a regular on the Tottenham away. Closer to home, Hulme is becoming little Somalia (after all the investment in the Community over the last 20 years). Many good folk and some bad like the rest of us I'd say and I've got a Somali mate. I just don't agree with congregating new groups en mass in one place.

Very little to do with EU membership though!

When the leavers turn up the vitriol to this extent then it strikes me they know they've lost. They're already talking post referendum revenge which means they know which way the wind is blowing.

It is possible the polls could be wrong, but they are beginning to look consistently in favour of remain.

The leaver campaign is a shambles, the constant playing of the immigration card, which they reckon is the strongest one they've got, looks increasingly like the only one they've got.

They should have made a better job of highlighting the dysfunctional structure of the EU, the disaster of the Euro, "ever increasing union" etc. They have almost entirely focused on immigration at the expense of any sensible discussion about the long term problems facing the EU in the future. They seem to have based their campaign on the assumption that they they're only talking to the stupid.

Yep, I was probably an in before but wasn't certain, but I can't imagine voting out now, for every rational leave voice there seem to be a hundred crackpot two world wars and one world cup bulldog tattooed bigots

Because deep down they believe that group can give them a majority, it is a very very sad view of the British people and making it a referenda about immigration , foreigners, different religions etc will scare off a fair % of middle of the road people a little afraid of the path of the EU but not wanting to associate with that path.
I suspected before that Cameron was a Brexit plant, I now suspect Johnson and gove are remain plants as turning all Donald Trump isn't the way to win in Britain. I reckon give it a week and they will be building a wall on the east coast

"History is written by the victor" ;)

What I find striking is how France is never called up for the sheer number of military engagements its had over the centuries or how they once tried to conquer Europe and Britain militarily not 200 years ago. Its like they have a free pass of ignorance. It'd be interesting to hear the French position on the EU Army, if i'm honest. I know the Germans are quite keen, they've already annexed the Dutch tank regiments.
And you would be wrong, mate, it´s the french who are pushing hardest for an EU army (why a trading block requires a military is interesting) they are pushing for it as they expect to be in charge of it.

In truth they know their constituency is not exclusively stupid but they do believe it is predominantly stupid. They are asking the British people to leave the largest trading block in the world, it is simply madness without a viable alternative

The madness could have been avoided had they come up with a viable alternative, but they have none, absolutely none. The idea we can blissfully carry on as if nothing has happened were we to leave, trading happily with our European neighbours on our terms with none of the costs or beastly EU interventions is simply absurd, how stupid do you have to be to swallow that?

Answer...Very stupid indeed.
