European away games ticketing policy

It seems a little odd to question his grip on reality just because you've not understood his (valid) point.

The people with the highest points are at every game - they're not cherry picking, and thats why they're on the highest points. There are a few on over 22,000 so yeah, no one will ever catch them but why should they miss out after the effort/sacrifices they've made since the introduction of the points system.

If those on low points went to the unglamorous games often enough then they would work their way up overtime to be able to get to glamorous places like Stoke (I've never thought of it as glamorous myself). The reality is those on lower points can't be arsed any more than the middle rangers that are 'cherry picking', but then still feel entitled to demand that they should be able to go to a big game over someone else more deserving.

Thats bollocks.

If City thought there was an angry reaction to when they put sultanas in the Balti Pies, I dare not think about what will happen if they introduce a ballot for tickets.
on the money. great post.

our worst trip to date.it pissed down and we got beat. only Lisbon can run it close.

We had a great time in Santander (apart from the match). My worst trip was Poznan, fucking grim grey depressing shithole full of 6 foot 5 psychos wanting to kill you!!

I know what you mean, it got tasty in the pub on the square before the game in Poznan. The other side of the coin is, I was on my own and went in a back street bar after the game. Three of those psychos adopted me, paid for my beer all night and gave me their scarves. It was grey and grim though.

So, for the last twenty years the wife and I have travelled to each and every game that money and work have allowed. We have during that time gained a fair number of of points which has now enabled us to get tickets for every game we want to travel to. In the earlier days we missed out out on games, but so be it, we still managed over time to get into the position we are now. Our weekends, week days are made up of following City home, away and in Europe as often as possible. It's what nine months of the year we do, we don't go out often, we don't pay for sky TV, following City is our pastime and has been for me as long as I can remember and with the missus since we met. We make big sacrifices to do so. If we have to go into a ballot where one of us may get a ticket and the other not it will completely ruin it for us. We have done and are still doing the miles and paying the money I don't want to stop just yet. You can call me selfish but we have earned our right to be near the top of ladder and I want to stay there for the moment. In a few years we may decide to stop, then others who put the effort in will deservingly take our place.

Two of us walked in the wrong bar off the square the night before the match. I honestly wasn't sure we were gonna get out alive at one point lol

Exactly where were all the points whore and 12k points at Rome

Very good point - not many of us at the game. Juventus later year another case in point.I for one will be really pissed off if they goto a ballot system. I have earned my points by going to every game. The moaning gits on here should go to the games that dont sell out to build up their points. -nuff said.

Personally i don't mind the collection. I queued in Glasgow for around 50 mins having got there at 1.45pm. Cannot do all chumps away games due to cost (i pay for two & hols), although managed 4 last year. Go to as many over here too. 3 of us generally go, with youngest 22 all 16k plus points. (we were there when we were sh1t). Personally since the change my eldest lad has got tickets on his own points. He cannot do that many away games due to his job (paramedic) but season ticket holder and in all cup schemes despite not being able to get to half the games. (unless he swaps shifts). Trouble is no way will ever be perfect.

Spotchecks are the way to go with strong penalties for anyone caught touting, perhaps a 12 month away match ban. That would be enough of a deterrent to any points whores without penalising the genuine loyal hard core. It would be a disgrace if those who have amassed points watching City for decades lost out in a ballot. Surely what would happen is lots of people would apply in the ballot and then sell their ticket on anyway.

those people on high points have got them points by going to games, when we were shit, average and good, so fair play to them, ones in supporters clubs who get tickets when they havnt even got a seasoncard pisses me off, go to maybe one european game and a cup final, that is just wrong in my opinion
