European away games ticketing policy

What I don't understand is this. I have just over 14k points and in theory before the collection of tickets bought a ticket for Celtic and then given it to a mate on say 5k who didn't qualify. Now I can't do that how does someone without a SC obtain a ticket for Celtic and wait in the queue to collect

I think the term 'points whore' gets misused.

The issue is that we have a loyalty points system and it is plainly wrong if someone with, lets say 10000 points, cannot get a ticket for an important game when someone with many less (or even none) can be sure of getting a ticket, because they have a family member or friend that has accumulated many points over the years and can therefore get a ticket and pass it on - even if they have no intention of going themselves. They can do this without any risk of financial loss because there will be someone to take the ticket and they get the points associated.

This, IMO, is a far bigger issue at CITY than most I think realise - and the reason that many fans support the new policy - despite some really annoying issues.

I would say club employee, player, media or sponsor allocation

Younger fans can get tickets with an adult with or without a 'supporters'' club. Adults with no points need supporters clubs to get tickers which is wrong, and that is why load of new ones opened around 5 years ago.

If you stopped allocation to 'supporters'' clubs how many would carry on? Especially if there constitution sates "access to away tickets" as the reason they exist?

Fans have always complained about 'supporters'' club allocation at big away games. In 2007/08 Branches got less tickets for the derby, and members came on here complaining they had always got tickets but did not stand a chance this year.

Well the Supporters Club I am in would carry on and 90 percent of our season card holders don't go to aways - so tickets clearly aren't the main factor.

Why don't people who share your views demand the closure of the ticket forum on this website? That's one step that could be taken tonight.

Why will you not admit there is flaws in the distribution of tickets with the SC allocation that some go to people not eligible ?

I can't claim to know the ticket distribution policy in every Supporters Club and maybe you couldn't either.

If you are serious about legitimate ticket allocations then why don't you call for the closure of the the ticket forum on this website?

Got to say struggling with this one by younger fans I wasn't meaning children who can get a ticket with a parent I was thinking late teens early 20s who all those in favour of a change of the points system say we need to assist to save the away support from becoming a Darby & Joan club, well a way is through the supporters club allocation personally I and most in the branch will get tickets via the points scheme , but I don't mind the club helping young blues who might never see away games. We were hoovering up tickets well before 07/08 and didn't have websites to come on saying why doe's nobody want away tickets.

So you're saying it's OK for an early 20's to get an away ticket ahead of someone with more points just because he's a member of a supporters club whether the other person is in say their 50's or even in their early 20's......... how is that reasonable?! Surely loyalty points are loyalty points regardless. Supporters clubs tend to use their own points system which would place newer members who had higher club loyalty points further down the pecking order for tickets... there should only be one system!!

Whether there is one system or not yes fans in their 20s should (at least occasionally) have a chance to sample the away day atmosphere. They could have done this before the £30 tickets .

This is about protecting our future fanbase and the current points system is good in the main but it favours older fans too much.
