European away games ticketing policy

So you're saying it's OK for an early 20's to get an away ticket ahead of someone with more points just because he's a member of a supporters club whether the other person is in say their 50's or even in their early 20's......... how is that reasonable?! Surely loyalty points are loyalty points regardless. Supporters clubs tend to use their own points system which would place newer members who had higher club loyalty points further down the pecking order for tickets... there should only be one system!!
Maybe it's not right it's a hang over from when we were crap I suggest you have a word with the club over corporate tickets city in the city and player allocations while you're at it.

Amazed in this thread at the number of people who seem to assume that everyone on 15k points and above never goes to a game and simply buys there tickets to sell on! Weird then how I see the same faces week after week whether it be the derby or Swansea away in the cup.
For the record some of us 'points whores' actually do attend the occasional game!
Has anyone got any actual evidence of points whoring being a widespread problem ? yes I accept that you might get the odd game where the odd fan can't make it and passes their ticket on, but is it really as rife as some like to make out or is it just a convenient excuse to suit the cause?

What happen to the ticket returns policy? you don't seem to see this promoted by the club as it used to be; They know fans will pass their tickets on.
The ticket returns should be promoted with a returns being distributed season card holders on lower points or age bands (early 20's etc.) who have joined a waiting list for each fixture; that is one possible suggestion.

The bottom line is supporters club give tickets to fans who do not qualify. FACT.

I was talking to a couple of guys at Celtic. Neither had the required points. One was particularly low. I'm not arsed as I qualify for every game but please don't say it doesn't go on.it clearly does. So anyone who missed out at celtic there is your answer rather than a mate getting someone the odd one.

It br could worse!

A United fan from Derbyshire ;-) has just been given a 12 month away match ban for not picking up and using his Hull away ticket. See the MEN

In comparison I think we have very fair rules regarding our ticketing policy. It's not perfect, but compared to United's ticketing policy, it's much better and a lot less draconion.

I don't get the hate on here from some posters on supporters clubs.

The supporters clubs will always get a very maximum percentage, which is a low percentage of away tickets. They do not get the majority of tickets.

I would be looking more at the allocation given to corporate, sponsors etc 1st, before you start having a go at supporters clubs.

It was down to the supporters clubs that City have scrapped the collection process for Barca and BMG.

It was also down to the supporters clubs last season as they petitioned the club to reduce Champs League Home tickets.

As soon as ticket collection for European always was introduced the points criteria dropped significantly - highlights the fact that it happens quite a lot.

The main issue with Celtic Bill was that the Clubs failed to agree bigger away allocations. It wouldn't have been too difficult to agree allocations of 5k or 6k. We / City Administratirs couldn't because of admin reasons and our ticket collection process.

As it appears that the SCs have a degree of influence, it would be interesting to know what proposals they are putting forward as part of the review. What system are they suggesting to replace the ticket collection process?
