European away games ticketing policy

You'd like to think so, I'm not sure if the club are monitoring it, hopefully they are. I suppose people could message privately to the admin of the page and it wouldn't be as obvious

You don't possibly think that anyone selling on Facebook are supporters clubs do you?

So, for the last twenty years the wife and I have travelled to each and every game that money and work have allowed. We have during that time gained a fair number of of points which has now enabled us to get tickets for every game we want to travel to. In the earlier days we missed out out on games, but so be it, we still managed over time to get into the position we are now. Our weekends, week days are made up of following City home, away and in Europe as often as possible. It's what nine months of the year we do, we don't go out often, we don't pay for sky TV, following City is our pastime and has been for me as long as I can remember and with the missus since we met. We make big sacrifices to do so. If we have to go into a ballot where one of us may get a ticket and the other not it will completely ruin it for us. We have done and are still doing the miles and paying the money I don't want to stop just yet. You can call me selfish but we have earned our right to be near the top of ladder and I want to stay there for the moment. In a few years we may decide to stop, then others who put the effort in will deservingly take our place.
Well done you, and the missus

I think if someone has 18000+ points they should pretty much be going to any away game they want without worrying they will miss out in a ballot to someone with 13000 points.
Has the person with 18000 points actually been going to games though, or are they buying every ticket and selling them on ? I know that happens because some want to make sure of getting to certain games. The guy on 13000 points may never have sold a ticket on in his life, and been to every one he's ever applied for.

our worst trip to date.it pissed down and we got beat. only Lisbon can run it close.
I was working down south and a mates wife booked the trip £90 all in trouble was she'd booked Stansted to Zaragoza think we were further away when we landed than when we took off 4 hour drive. Then we got beat 4-1 Caicedo scored, got on well with locals and if he hadn't scored in last minute they would have gone through with us, we couldn't even get that right. proper balls up of a trip but a great laugh.

Same for me. Started away travelling on August 2009 with 4,000 points only missing the games I was unable to get tickets (eg Man U Liverpool Blackpool etc. because these games were popular) but going to Portsmouth Palace Norwich etc. I now have 19,000 points and have earned the right to be at the top of the queue, along with many others who have made the effort!!!

Very good point - not many of us at the game. Juventus later year another case in point.I for one will be really pissed off if they goto a ballot system. I have earned my points by going to every game. The moaning gits on here should go to the games that dont sell out to build up their points. -nuff said.
I was there didn't think it was particularly under supported thought there was a good following. pissed off when Ryan air cancelled our flight home though.

You, sir, are a fraud
Please show me any evidence you have to support that it's more then 'the odd punter'
Secondly, from memory alone the games in Rome, Turin and Kiev did not sell out, without me having to list all the games in Enland that went to general sale. Did you, perchance, attend those?
So, I do believe, my point still stands.
That you expect me to use my time and money so that you can get tickets for a game if you choose to bother, that's my time and my money, not yours.

hahaha agree with you 100%. not only the games you mentioned but I don't think aris away sold out, nor did miji land, nor did Copenhagen. these people moaning only want to go to the more glamorous ones, spit dummy out when they can't get a ticket to them.

You have got 15000 points since 2009???

The loyalty points started at a snap shot in time and only proves who's bought most tickets in that period .where does it sit then all those blues that had season tickets and did aways from the shit era from Maine road who haven't got a single loyalty point to show for their past loyalty.?
unless they stopped going when we stopped being shit, they'll have the points. I have. I don't need extra for being one of the 8000 (oh yes!) or for signing up for a City Bond (£200 loan to the club and free season ticket, worth £25, for 8 years in lieu of the interest and then your money back!)

Well said.
It's going to be interesting what move the club make for future sales now.

Alienate the regulars and there will be loads of empties at away games in the future, fact is, there have been simply loads of games that have not sold out since the system was introduced, now the tickets are cheaper and city are competitive all of a sudden the system is unfair. Last season, both games at chelsea, norwich, sunderland twice, newcastle, southampton, liverpool, psg, juve, all didnt sell out. Also it has to be remembered actually joining cup schemes on platinum makes up a huge chunk of a seasons loyalty points. The club should scrap the corporate for away games and make this 10/20% available by other means to true city fans, but i doubt that fits the agenda

I see how it can be done
I had exactly 3000 points when we bought Schalke tickets in October 08, we got the last few remaining tickets that morning.
I bet at the end of the season I had about 3200.
Gradually went to more and more away and built it up to nearly 17,000. Could be up to nearly 18,000 if my ticket had been used all the time.

The opening line of your post is spot on. Was just about ro post the same thing. Sure city you do your ballot then watch as the jcl's sell on the tickets to regulars who missed out.

Well do you know?

We can all throw allegations about but the truth of the matter is that the away ticket allocation process for Champs League games vindicated Supporters Clubs.

Spot on.

I'd rather not carry my passport on me (if you're heading home straight after the game, no choice). If the weather's like Celtic, I don't want a soggy passport. But that may be a relic of her Britannic Majesty's reason for giving me a passport, so I may pass freely through through frontiers, not faff around showing it to all and sundry.

The Supporters Club have been in negotiations with the club since last Thursday, to try and get the collection of tickets removed for the Euro Aways.

Well done to them for doing this.

It's not just about loyalty. At the time the platinum s/t was introduced I had enough points to attend almost all away games, however I didn't opt to join the scheme. Anyone behind me on the points ladder caught me up very quickly and have now sailed off into the distance. As nobody is allowed to join the scheme if they didn't do so at the time this has created a closed shop. Any young blues wil have next to no chance of attending away games in the future and that is a shame for them and the club.
