European super league

Totally agree.

But City don't care whether we're there or some Cockney/overseas glory hunters are instead.

Many of my mates and family members have been priced out by City and probably replaced with more affluent people (just look at the car parks before games to see the Jags and Mercs and BMs). City don't care about that and they won't care when me and you stop going neither they'll just up our SC prices and invite some chumps in to replace us.

Yes we are becoming the monster we scoffed at and most of us knew it would happen. It is a real catch 22. Without the takeover we would now be looking at 40+ years without a trophy and we have now won 5 in 8 years, with the Aguero moment probably the best ever memory for everyone. We are dining at the top table now and will be a major player in any new venture.

For me if this ever gets off the ground I will say thanks for the memories and watch park football in the flesh and catch the odd game on tv.I don't see it happening as the premier league is the richest and most exciting in the world. What this smacks of is leverage by the big clubs to take a bigger cut of the premier money, probably worried by the smaller clubs narrowing the field as Leicester and West Ham have done.

I hate this idea, but I have to say that if you think the clubs can't make much, much more money from a Super League then you're sadly mistaken. The richness and excitement of the PL would pale in comparison to the banknotes falling from the heavens around them.

From the tv companies perhaps but people coming through the turnstiles? I am not so sure half of the European games don't sell out world wide and I think people would stay away out of protest and the ones that did attend would pick and choose their games and get bored eventually.

Stephen Ross is a multibillionaire bigwig. He owns the Miami Dolphins. Looks like serious business.

That's all I need to know, to ensure I am against it.... Yanks don't like things like relegation....... or best team over a season is the winner.... they want guaranteed place in the elite and money spinning play offs at the end.
And if City can't fill the Etihad, then City will play somewhere else where a stadium will be full!

I preferred the European Cup when only the champions of their country played in a 2 leg knockout from the start. I get more games equals more revenue, just not the same. As for having a super league, I hope this never happens.

So basically it's the CL as the primary league
(All 32 teams home and away)
With the FA and COC as the satellite comps
Oh dear sounds like Big Money

I have just read that the Relevent Sports chairman has said the rags were more worthy of champs league football than Leicester. I don't think he will get much support from your average football fan.

Anyway if we are to compete in this preseason tournament in the US, Asia or Australia and wish to expand our global fanbase we need to put out decent teams and try and win it. Where ever we play the stadium is probably going to be 90% full of rags, dippers or gooners so we need to keep beating these at every opportunity and stop all this it's only pre season friendly crap.

I have to say i fucking hate this shit, corporate football, urgh can you think of anything more destructive to the ethos of the game than this.
The fact we are entertaining it by even going to a meeting pisses me off, fuck off ffs.

The Dolphins are fucking shite and have been forever basically, so this fella as mentioned wants a cash cow.
The only eyes looking at this are those of people who want money, no regard for the game it's self is being administered here.

Disgusting idea, gtfo.

The money clubs make from matchday has been overtaken by TV revenue and a super League would make so much more that matchday revenue would cease to be important. They would still fill half the capacity every game with daytrippers anyway, and frankly they would start acting like half full stadia was the way football had always been. Trust me, they aren't going to shed a tear for non-full stadia which, for clubs like ours, might mean £30m lost if it means that they can get an extra £300m annually in TV revenue.
