European super league

They lost no brownie points with me. It is clear from Perez's comments I posted above that we signed up without being in possession of all the details. It would have been commercial madness to have dismissed the idea out of hand. Once we became aware of the full details and its implication for football we pulled the rug from under their feet.
It's was commercial madness to sign up without being in possession of all the details to be honest.
Amateurish to be truthful.

The events of the day are exactly as I described
The day Chelsea said they were withdrawing they were at home to Brighton and declared it before the match, City were not playing that day. City then said they were in the process of withdrawing at 9.27pm via their twitter account.

City played Villa the day after.

You made it up.

Nope. What’s City v Villa got to do with it.?

Here is when city said they were in the process of doing it.

Chelsea had announced it before the Brighton game:

With almost identical wording. Impossible to conclude City did it first.

It is PSG and the German teams, the fan reaction and following Chelsea's lead.

Chelsea didn’t officially withdraw until 1am the next day.

That was just how City spun it, the fact it was announced by City after Chelsea and then use semantics to try an convince the gullible public. Chelsea announced they were withdrawing, then we formally announced it, make no difference, we followed their lead like we followed Joel Glazer.

No credit to City whatsoever by for inserting the word formally in a press release.

Totally agree, no credit to be gained whatsoever. The statement by Glazer on ‘our’ website was sacrilege.

I was just pointing out that whilst Chelsea were the first to suggest they were going to withdraw, they didn’t do so until the early hours of the next day, they delayed until after their game with Brighton.

City however went ahead after announcing their intentions at 7:30pm (Pep had already voiced his disapproval at lunchtime, 1pm to be precise) and formally/officially withdrew shortly after, with the club statement a couple of hours later.

Chelsea didn’t officially withdraw until 1am the next morning. As you said, semantics; however these are the facts.

I like this version of the events.
However, what does it really mater who withdrew first? Or am i missing something here? Genuine question BTW.
