Ever Blue

So, has anyone come up with an idea as to why a current seasoncard holder would want to join the scheme?

If I won the lottery and wanted a season ticket again ten maybe this would be good for me, to avoid waiting lists etc but can't see any benefit for a fan that already has a season ticket. Seems like a way of sneaking people in the back door which is a shame......just be honest.

some people take ages building up points, but other fans can catch up 1000 points at a time because they're willing to move seat? insult to hardcore fans. if this is introduced i'd go as far as saying ill never want anything to do with city again.

Quick question lads If you don't renew do all your points go?

I think they stay attached to your supporter number, so if you get a blue membership your points will still show minus the 1000 they give you for your first season card.
yes same loyalty points minus the thousand.

In reality however, let's say you had 8,000 points and you never renewed but chose to become a Blue Member with Match Ticket Priority, your new total is 7,000 but it may as well be zero as a Seasoncard holder with only their 1st 1,000 loyalty points will get a shot at any away ticket before any Blue Member irrespective of points total.

Probably about as useful as an unused book of 'Green Shield' stamps (if you're less than 50 years of age, ask your Dad what they are) is a Blue Membership with thousands of loyalty points!

Someone going on to Platinum last season could've got 1000 loyalty points just for renewing and joining all 3 Cup schemes.

Exactly, it's a back door for wealthy new fans who want to associate themselves with the current Champions. People like me in level 2 won't last five seasons in our current seats, because level 2 will be a 'club Wembley' type deal designed to attract the corporates and their wallets. They don't want me in Level Two because my 'matchday experience' involves going to the match as opposed to paying inflated car parking fees, an even more inflated bar tariff, a three course lunch, programme, photo opportunity etc etc.

Sign of the times. FFP won't pay for itself.

Borussia Dortmund were Bundesliga Champions last season and are going great guns in the Champions League. Somehow I don't think their fans will be looking at £600 for a season ticket there.

I paid £640 this season!!

I've got a little bit of money put aside but I'd have to look at credit to find that kind of sum in one go. I imagine I'm not alone.

Counted my bottle last night. I have £70 in 20p's and 50p's Peoff twds next season ticket plus £400 in a savings account so I am still looking at £200 to find I reckon which will soften the blow.
I paid £550 last season in SL2 as went platinum so am expecting another £100 hike this year.
Cleavers made a really good point. I used to be a voice on here who thought people could just cut out other things in there lives to pay for it. I am now totally against this position as I am nowhere near the bottom end of the earning tables however football is becoming so so expensive to the normal working class bloke/woman/family.

City have to be very careful how they pitch next seasons pricing. I for one have my limit and will not go over it. True it is the price of success but city have to remember the fans who stuck through them through the really shitty times and not just look at getting a load of JCL's.Hammer the corporates/hospitality areas. I was hoping for a freeze next season.
I actually don't think there will be many taking up this offer and I actually do not believe there are that many blues out there waiting to buy us out of our seats.
Times are tough, real tough for a lot of families (forgetting football) and for the club to keep increasing the cost is just ridiculous.

It is an option that might be attractive to people in the forces or those that might be going to Uni or who's work takes them away for a year at at time. Their seat will be reserved for when they return, and it can be sold on when they are away. If it is only an option and will not be forced on people, it's maybe a good option to have for certain people. It would have saved me £1200 while the lad is at Uni.

i say bring back the old turnstiles when you just turn up on the day and you sneak your kids or dwarfs through under the counter lol

Balls...... sorry (-;

As far as I can see Ever Blue is NO DIFFERENT from a Season Ticket - because, unless I'm very much mistaken, you get to keep your season ticket and seat associated with it as long as you keep paying for the season ticket every year.

So why would I want to pay more money up front to get what I already have, and am going to have if I don't pay it?

...unless of course there's going to be a change in T&C's for next years season ticket which say we (City) reserve the right to move you elsewhere in the ground at our discretion upon next renewal... :-(

It might already say this in the T&C's ??

this isn't the case

1000's of fans were forced to move from the North Stand a few seasons ago when the club decided to make the whole of that stand a Family Stand

Crumbs... I'd forgotten about that. Can anyone involved let us know how City went about moving you?

if this is a retort to my post then even this i dont agree with. a lot of people bought platinum because they didnt want to fall behind and miss out on the inevitable cup finals and big games we'll be attending in years to come.
buying loyalty just doesn't sit right with me.

I was involved in that. Basically it was quite simple - they said you no longer have your seat!!! I seem to remember they did give us a window before everyone else to choose our new seats and also we were given a discount on our season ticket for that season

Putting the prices up is not exactly an 'inventive' way of making money. In fact it's probably the opposite of inventive. It's the most obvious way of making money.

Sounds like a description of Malcolm Glazer.

GOOD POINT!

Has anyone ever seen Glazer and Soriano stood in the same room?
