Someone going on to Platinum last season could've got 1000 loyalty points just for renewing and joining all 3 Cup schemes.

if this is a retort to my post then even this i dont agree with. a lot of people bought platinum because they didnt want to fall behind and miss out on the inevitable cup finals and big games we'll be attending in years to come.
buying loyalty just doesn't sit right with me.

It wasn't a direct retort to anyone. I was just stating a fact about how someone could immediately join the queue with 1000 loyalty points. 400 for the Platinum Card and 600 for 3 Cup Schemes. It doesn't sit right with me either!

I imagine so. Happy to be corrected if I'm wrong.

As long as your prepared to pay, you can. Probably take a lifetime of ST's to put you in a position where you could get a cup final ticket though........

1000 loyalty points is still a significant start over someone just buying a Gold Seasoncard on its own. You then get double loyalty points on all away tickets (can be bought for others).

Got to be honest I'll pay what it costs its not that big a factor, a years car tax and insurance is a lot more, or an away trip to Ajax for that matter and that's 1 game

Yes I could too but what about the people who can't afford to. For one game I paid £400 to see us play but not at the expense of any Blue.

thought the points on a plat card were as follows

380 purchase

600 if to sign up for all the cup schemes
+ 1000 one off for purchase of sc so first years = 1980 gets you off to a flying start

City have to be very careful how they pitch next seasons pricing. I for one have my limit and will not go over it. True it is the price of success but city have to remember the fans who stuck through them through the really shitty times and not just look at getting a load of JCL's.Hammer the corporates/hospitality areas. I was hoping for a freeze next season.
I actually don't think there will be many taking up this offer and I actually do not believe there are that many blues out there waiting to buy us out of our seats.
Times are tough, real tough for a lot of families (forgetting football) and for the club to keep increasing the cost is just ridiculous.[/quote]

Have to agree with that/ hope the club do not go down the road of ripping off the hardcore fanbase as that is the soul of city and would drive a nail deep in to some hearts/ will have to wait and see

If this becomes a reality and hardcore fans that have been going for 20 years or so get priced out/moved to shit seats to accomodate some middle class twat that payed 3 times as much just to get the seat, I will really question what this club is becoming. It goes against everything the club has represented for so long now. The owners and the club have stated that their priority is rewarding and accommodating those fans that stuck with the team through thick and thin for 35+ years, yet I dont see that with this scheme. Think of the multiple thousand pounds an average fan has spent on this club in those barren years, tickets, shirts, travel, food and drink, etc. why should they then have to suffer just because they can't and Billy Newcomer can afford a 'seat for life'. I must have spent £10k just since we moved to Eastlands, never mind the 5 years before that. Prices are already becoming very difficult to pay, and if they are inflated much more I dont know how I will manage to pay for them. I certainly wont be able to go head to head and turn down say £100 compensation for my seat, but I dont think it's right. I've paid for my season ticket, therefore this is my seat, why should the club offer to someone the chance to buy my seat for life, and try and negotiate me a move somewhere else in the ground whenever they fancy. Don't agree with it at all.

I understand this is all a theory as it stands, and I doubt it will happen. However, if it does and fans like me, and fans like those that have been going home and away for 20+ years, get treated as second class, I will not be afraid to walk away from the club with nothing more than incredible memories of moss side, Lloyd St Chippy's, Wembley 99', promotions, move to Eastlands, several derby day wins, FA Cup, and of course Aguero's special goal.

The unfortunate thing is that it will happen; the club will become a cash cow for the rich businessmen who bought it. Guess it was inevitable and we got to see us win the league before we are sold down the river. And all this on the back of the ex barca bloke saying the club will be sold to global fans on the history of its working class....spin for ripping us off!?!?

Exactly, that's what is worrying me. As a club, pre FA Cup I'd say, we had one of the largest working class followings in the country and always had. The club always reached out to every one of them, and made it easy to go and rewarded them for loyalty. I'll find it a bitter pill to swallow when those same fans aren't the priority anymore. Obviously success is going to attract a new brand of supporter and probably wealthier ones, but I don't think that these fans should get the priority over the long standing blue from Wythenshawe just because they can pay higher ticket fees etc. Find other ways to extrapolate money from fans, but don't rip off the ones that have been part of the club since before any of the current players even started nursery.

I think a point is being missed here IMO, surely if you have the cash to become Ever Blue you would buy the seat you already sit in with your Seasoncard ! I can't see the panic to be honest. My Seasoncard is Platinum in SS2 and I will be renewing next season with an expected small increase. This hair brained scheme will just be another Superbia with very little take up. If we expand to 60,000 we will have an extra 12,000 seats so I would'nt be worried about JCL's as long as you renew yours !

Why is that? We have the best owners in the world....can we not trust them?

I wouldn't mind buying a 10 year season ticket if we could pay a set amount monthly (going up each year) with the club guaranteeing my payment for the next 10 years in return for a lower price.

I think some of the people on here need a bit of a reality check. If the owners succeed in turning city into one of the top clubs in Europe all revenue sources are going to have to increase if we are going to meet FFP regulations. Economic reality is that either you pay £15 a game and watch something at Championship standard or you pay more to watch a top class team with good facilities. It is unreasonable to expect to keep paying the same for tickets as when we were crap. There is no such thing as a free lunch unfortunately, it is unrealistic to expect to stay in the best seats in the stadium (Level 2) at cheap rates just because you've been going for years. If cost is a big issue as it will become for me when I retire next year I will move to the 3rd tier if I can't afford/Justify the cost of level 2 anymore, and I've been supporting since 1965. I also think that the effect of JCLs on the atmosphere at games is a red herring - the Etihad has rarely been great on atmosphere, it didn't suddenly get worse once the new owners came along. The nature of the game has changed everywhere - the only thing that could provide a solution that would work for most people would be to have the entirety of Level 1 turned into a safe standing section, cheaper tickets for those who prefer to stand and a better atmosphere all round. If they then extend the capacity to 60,000 there should be enough capacity to keep everyone happy & increase the revenue

It is not the owners who are coming up with this poorly judged scheme, it will be one of the excessive tier of management that have been recruited to run the club at an operational level.
