Everton (a) post-match thread

I am bewildered by this thread. Some seem to be arguing that the referees and PIGMOL are hell bent on ensuring City win matches?

Hits his sleeve and his arm isn’t in an unnatural position therefore under the current rules, not a penalty.

As much as the law is a disgrace its this simple for me. Ref thinks it hit the sleeve from his skewed angle. Var look at it and it clearly hits his sleeve hence there is no error and no need to look at the screen.

We got away with one only because the laws of handball are so shit these days they make sense to no one.

It was never going to be a pen this season, but would be in every other single season pre this one.

Aye. Handball has always been shit. Football always been a stupid sport with stupid rules, it's why we love it.

You are very wrong with that assertion. It would never have been a penalty pre VAR. It MIGHT have been a penalty the season before last. Every other season? Not a penalty.

Just got up and watched on Cityplus. What a fucking drab game. Horrible to watch.
Thank christ Phil was there to capitalise on their mistake. We were pretty shit. Raz was fucking awful imo. shouldve gone off much earlier for Mahrez.
A very hard game but I thought we deserved the points overall.
It's funny that Ally Mann commentating said absolutely nothing about the City tops or Evertons flags of Zinchenko's tears.

Disagree completely , our final ball into the box found an Everton defender nearly every time , not sure what game you were watching , if you think KDB , Cancelo , Bernardo or any other player put a precise ball into the box , then f*cking show me when and where .
Its got everyrthing to do with the final ball.
Everton sat deep especially in the second half, what people may think was a bad ball was because, there was so many players in the area to intercept
That’s how we got our goal eventually, through 2 deflections before it fell to Phil
It was hard for precision today

That was the worst I’ve seen us play for a bit. No control and a lot of 6/10 performances. But we take the 3 pts and run and results are what matter now
That sir, is the sign of champions. A sometimes overused statement, but nevertheless one that becomes factual by looking at the trophy cabinet.

That's 2 well below par performances in a row whichever way we look at it. If the loss didn't light a fire under them to sharpen up, I hope that performance will. Vary rare we don't get a reaction after a loss.

We can discuss the political side of football all day long. In my opinion, politics should be left out of football. Before you know it the game will have a 15 minute delay before kickoff becaise of 'blm, racism, invasions, extinction rebellion, CND, gender dyshporia, abortion rights etc etc. Is this really what you think the game of football should be about? Get a grip ffs.
"Get a grip".....LoL

Wrong...they didn't check for offside because they ruled no handball...had the handball been given the replay with the lines would shown a clear offside...same result...no penalty...
It was a clear penalty though regardless we got away with it and we need to play better

He wasn't as bad as kdb is compared to his usual standards, raz was just average like the rest were

The way Dias reacts says to me it was a penalty. But we got lucky thanks to a marginal offsode in the build up.

Why wouldn't it be ruled out for offside in the build up? Was it because it was only a handball check? Would it be a pan it VAR ruled it as (for the handball) one even considering the offside?
