Everton (H) | Post-Match Thread

I really enjoyed that game yesterday, we looked in the mood from the first minute and no coasting. Everyone played well to be fair, hard to single people out....but to see Aguero come on and play like that, it was the icing on the cake. You could see what it meant to everyone as well when he scored, not just Kun.

Someone in an earlier post said they really enjoyed their day at the ground as they were with their dad and maybe these moments together would become fewer and fewer, which I found quite moving. It's always been difficult over the years to get to any games for me living so far away, let alone with my dad. My dad is sadly now departed but it's through him that I started to support City. He didn't really have 'his team' because he just loved watching any football teams who had flair.....and at that time he loved the Mercer/Allison team and always had a soft spot for City, hence my supporting City ever since. So yesterday I sat there watching this current City team and thought about the glorious football they've served up over the past few years......and there's no doubt at all my dad would have absolutely loved them, he would have raved about them and raved about Pep. Go and complete the job on Sat and make my old man (and me) very happy.

Glass of wine in the ground???? Some buggers have all the luck, no alcohol for us peasants in the cheap seats.

Talking of wine I made the mistake of going into that pub upstairs in Piccadilly station pre game. No bitter on so I asked for a large glass of house red. £8.07!!!!!! He asked if I wanted a receipt and I said, "No thanks it's bad enough I've been robbed I don't want a reminder."
Go to the Piccadilly Tap on the station approach next time mate

Mate, this is such a good post, really nice of you to share that!

It certainly wasn't apparent he would be so key to the team. He played in the shadow of yaya, was slightly better than Fernando, and yes wasnt De Jong
I think Dinho only really came into his own, when Pep came along and started playing him as the only defensive midfielder/ pivot.

He really has shone in that rôle and it's why it took us so long to find a successor.

thanks for sharing that it brought a tear to my eye , reminded me of my dad who is no longer here but thanks to him Im a blue , he used to rave about how we used to play in the 60s and early 70s ( I never used to believe him due to how rubbish we were) he sadly didnt get to see us post take over or 93:20 , he would have loved Peps style of football and our current success , he would be telling everyone that would listen just how great we are

I wasn’t bothered about who did and who did not get a ticket, but city should hang there head in shame giving a ticket to Andy Burnham before a real fan.......fumming

But he didn’t we were allowed 10000 and Burnham, Gallagher, Marr wouldn’t have counted in that 10000 allocation. Now whether you think celebs should get priority tickets is a different argument, the club probably like the publicity it generates, but they didn’t take anyones ticket.
