Is it 5th and 6th then that qualify? Im guessing thats because we won the league cup and the extra place goes to the league?
Yep. Doing ourselves a favour with the COC cup win now it seems :).

Funny how things can end up working in your favour. Though i imagine a late surge for Europa League football from ryan and cronies might well add to his growing reputation to keep the job.
They're still more likely to catch Spurs than the Blue Dippers. Spurs are 3 points behind with a GD of about 20 less (doing ourselves more favours and Pool shooting themselves in the foot).

Can't stop thinking about this game, it's not been a productive week at work so far! It's amazing how like the 2011/12 season this has turned out, joyous hope at being given an extra chance weighed against the expectation of typical City and needing a solid winning run to clinch the title.

Anyone have an idea if Silva is fit for this game? Mind you if yaya is in the form he was on Sunday I can only see a city win

I know, and its only bloody tuesday lunchtime.

Hart
Zabaleta Kompany Demichelis Kolarov
Yaya Fernandinho
Milner Silva Nasri
Aguero

If Silva's unfit, then Dzeko.

Pants, Richards, Lescott, Rodwell, Garcia, Jovetic, Silva/Dzeko

Let's do this! MUST WIN game this one, but tht goes without saying. The likes of Yaya and Aguero will need to be on top form if we are to win. We never win at Everton, but hopefully this time we can buck the trend.

Everton 1-2 City

Lukaku
Aguero, Yaya

Hart

Zaba, VK, MDM, Kolarov
Fernandinho Yaya
Silva Nasri
Aguero
Dzeko
Man City 8-0 Everton
Yaya,Yaya Yaya, Yaya Yaya, Yaya Yaya Yaya Toure. ;)

Martinez says Jagielka likely to be back, and Distin 50 50

Jagielka has missed a lot of games now though and if they play Distin, its a massive risk. We should really be beating them, they all look dead on their feet.

I'd go with Clichy over Kolarov because Mirallas and Naismith will be making runs off the forward with Coleman supplying the balls in. Gives us a bit more pace. Go with a 5 man Midfield including Garcia and let Toure, Silva (if fit) and Aguero do the business with Milner providing good defensive tracking and those one two's around the back. Fancy Fernandinho to make some key interceptions and help us hit them on the counter.

Out for the rest of the season.

How did I miss that one but a bonus... Naismith's a bit tricky. I think we got to keep a good shape cause they play some high tempo stuff.

Naismith, if he plays on that side is extremely slow and Kolarov has been much better at reading the game this season so I think Kolarov would be the better pick. We'll need Clichy against Villa's pace, so I'd have Kolarov for Everton and the Hammers and Clichy for Villa.

they will give it 110% against us as usual

no room for complacency or wishful thinking that it may be anything other

expect their best and go there to be better and get the job done

this week is so slow ffs

If anyone's interested, I've had a browse on an Everton forum and this seems to be the line-up a majority think will start the game - and takes injuries into account of who's likely to make it and who's likely to miss out.

Howard

Coleman Stones Jagielka Baines
Osman McCarthy
Naismith Barkley Mcgeady (or Deloufeu)
Lukaku

last time martinez rushed jagielka back we were hammered at anfield, doubt he will risk him again. on saturday our team looked shattered and after the result last night i can see their hearts not really in it.

I think you beat us, I wont be the same atmosphere as it usually is ... for one I doubt you'll have our supporters shouting for every free kick, every off side or penalty shout!! If you score you'll most probably get our supporters singing songs like "Our you watching Liverpool" or "Your going to win f**k all again Liverpool"....

Is there any other songs that we could sing?

I think last night result has changed everything.... most supporters are looking to the Hull game, we just need 1 point from that.

Were all with you now since last nights result <a class="postlink" href="http://www.grandoldteam.com/forum/threads/everton-could-crown-liverpool-as-champions.66129/page-110" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.grandoldteam.com/forum/threa ... 9/page-110</a>

Strangely enough I am quite confident about this game, there was just something about the way we played the other day that showed me that the team had fire in their bellies again.

I am quite sure that Everton will not role over for us, and neither would I want them to, but I beleive we will have the psychological advantage

I've said it somewhere else but for me it was the way they walked off the pitch instead of over confident celebrating, there was a steely, job not finished calmness about them them.

Good point. I too believe their reaction (and Pellegrini's) said a lot about the way they will tackle those last three games. They know each one is a potential banana skin but will be determined to get the job done.

I will be massively, massively disappointed if we don't go on to win this thing, having been let back in. But whatever happens, I want to say this now, and will not go back on it. It's been a terrific season, and for my money Pellegrini has fulfilled his contract.
