Let's be honest here a 10 point reduction is ridiculous. A transfer ban is proportionate as it actually tries to fix the P&S issue. A points deduction does nothing but potential makes things far worse. I've got no idea who thought a points deduction was the best outcome. The premier league are supposedly helping to stop another Portsmouth not cause another one. It really needs looking into as it looks corrupt as fuck from everyones point of view (apart from Liverpool)

It might have been Richard Masters, the new Red Shirt PL CEO.

So these premier league rules could end a club for good?! They really haven't thought it through! No club should ever be docked points it's should be a reduced squad or a transfer ban and no loans allowed!
100% ageee. Much as I detest the perpetually entitled attitude of Everton fans, I'd much rather have seen the club sanctioned some other way than by a points deduction.

I think it’s probably fair to think they will delay the decision until after tomorrow’s game to avoid any fan protests at the game

Dead right. What has occurred on the pitch, whether a team has a 'prize' asset' purchased with money outside the PL's 'scheme of things" should be immune from sanction. What has gone on behind the scenes is the stuff that should be sanctioned. The PL adopt the bully boy antics when they know they can get away with it, and I often wonder whether the ten point EFC deduction stems from soneone at PLHQ who had an issue with EFC when they were in primary school!

Anyway, time for a thumping win, you Blueboys. Kyle wants Dirty Dom to knock in a first half hatrick.

Just total madness by the PL leadership. When a club goes out of business, which is actually a very rare event in football history, fair enough. If they can't fulfil their fixtures it is reasonable they face relegation. Debt should be the main driver of any FFP regulation not investment. I don't believe for one minute that any of Everton's recent spending has given them an advantage on the pitch..in fact the opposite is true.

Their fans are getting very very nervous now. Little things are setting the fan base off like the rumour the appeal decision would be before Friday. Now they are coming up with conspiracy theories that the PL are waiting till after Monday as fearful of the attention Everton will bring
Another theory they've come up with is a points reduction gives Everton a boost and and will play better against Palace and the league don't want that
Various fans tweeting the PL to say they need to know as it's affecting people's mental health
Everyone also sends to be writing their own judgment "will get 5/6 points".. then there are the paranoia cult... "Sly 6" "corrupt PL"
Also saw, "direct all your anger at the PL if the points aren't cleared"

Noticed how the focused on us and Chelsea despite neither have been decided guilty?
Noticed how they seem to be trying to warn Villa Brighton, Hammers, Wolves it could be them next?
But any thought for Burnley, Leeds, Luton, Southampton, Sheff United in their tweets? Nope.
They are a snide lot. They've blown £200m they didn't have on players that were meant to get top 6. They nearly got relegated and its backfired.
Ukraine war blamed, well the club could not provide evidence of commercial agreements relating to it. Stadium costs? Debunked. They've even tied to blame not suing Sigurdson

I think they'll look back at this in a few years you've and realise that in that 4 year period they were owned by a dodgy businessman who's shady deals and financing sent them into administration. Feel bad for the normal fan, but they are few and far between.

You do know what Everton were deducted the points for ?
Stadium loans and 2 players transfers and payments ( namely Sigurdson and Richarlison).
The naming rights of any new stadium were possibly reliant on Usmanov still being a part owner of the club. Therefore it arguably is linked to sanctions in place so hardly a conspiracy theory. I would take any opinion on X/ Twitter with a huge pinch of salt, most of all a fanbase of any football team.
As for reflecting on dodgy owners we've hardly been silent about any opposition to our board and owners for decades.

Football is a business (however much we try to pretend otherwise) and if a club goes bust then so be it.
When a club goes we hear about it being "part of the community"; that's the community that spends it's time ignoring the club in favour of the so-called "big clubs" until it goes under.
I don't support the full "it's a business" model that led to Wimbledon being moved to Milton Keynes but to prevent investment while ignoring debt is ridiculous and benefits a handful of clubs including our nauseating neighbours.
There's an argument that they can service their debt, which is fair enough, but the PL rules seem out of kilter with the real world.

deductions should not happen to any club for a punishment like I've posted before... is any of this true?> or is it all media bollocks because we know how the media report stuff..

It was reported that it was overspending by 20m that was why 10 points was deducted? Also misleading the premier. Also warned about spending on players because they were on the limit of overspending, Everton apparently ignored them premier stopped advising you because of not listening to there warning...

People will say an overspend is an overspend but what can you buy in the PL for £20 million now. It's like driving 36 mph in a 30 zone and getting a custodial sentence.
Did the PL not also say that no sporting advantage was gained, so this suggests it was not related to transfers and was mainly the Metro Bank loan regarding the stadium
