Everton v City post match

I'm certain our owner has plans to win the Chumps cup during Pep's tenure, to not be competing in it for a couple of seasons would be disaster after all the money spent and the effort to bring Pep to Manchester.

It hasn't stopped other sides that are not in it from improving their squads and we should be no different.

We have been victim if anything to too many agents spruiking over priced players that not suited to the premiership with the lure of Chumps League as well full stop.

We need a new approach that recognises the qualities of what is required for winning while being entertaining at the same time.

Some if not all the best performers in the premiership are not in
Do you ever wish you could have a glimpse at a parallel timeline? What happens if we get the penalty we should have had?

We were playing well, growing in confidence since even when they tried to press they couldn't get it(they were sitting back yes but nobody "lets" a team have it for the length of time we were keeping it in their own ground), we go 1-0 up after the penalty and they can no longer sit back, all of sudden there is space in behind for us to get at with our tails up and full belief in the system. Yesterday when that second goal went in I saw doubt and uncertainty creep back in, maybe some are ageing or not quite up to the standard required to truly take teams apart with Pep's style but we've already seen what it looks like when our players are getting it right... If we already have a sports psychologist then we need a new one because the same thing was happening under Peller's, the mental side of the game is so big it helped Leicester to their first PL title, it saw Chelsea spend an alarming amount of time in the bottom half of the table last season it's too easy to put it all on a manager there's only so much they can control, he can only show them the way. Take a look at the difference between West Ham and Everton one ground is more open the other is old fashioned and hostile(I could hear one guy giving it out "Sterling you're shit... city you're shit" all match haha) and look at the stark difference in the performances, yes West Ham had a stinker but we really were good, started the game at Everton much the same way but the goal didn't come and we lost our nerve too easily.

Mindset of the team is poor in that case.

Good sides overcome adversity or setbacks.

Its been said often that we have no leadership and no fight which is basically the case.

The record when we are behind at half time is woeful.

Bottom line is the vast majority of the squad is totally inappropriate for what we need going forward and needs to be shipped out and replaced by players that can buy into what is required to be successful in the premiership and in Europe.

No it shows that I thought he was a good but not great manager & Pep is an all time great irrespective of whether he was to fail at City. I think most people in the football world would be of a similar ish opinion.

Brian Clough didn't become shit because he failed at Leeds. Nor would Guardiola at City.

And you Mancini characters are a bunch of fucking weirdos imo.

He's been gone for fucking years yet so many appear when we lose to try & score points. It's weird & it's fucking stupid & pointless.

It's as if you are being paid to mention him & try to stir shit for revenge rather than just discussing the present situation.

Failed at Leeds? What in a month? That's pretty good going. Once the booze got hold of him he destroyed forest. But I'm not having it he failed at Leeds.

Yeah defence needs sorting everyone can see it, even our rivals unfortunately, I was just thinking about the way people interpret things... ie they are seeing the pattern of the team falling apart losing confidence and fight and coming to the conclusion that Pep is no better than Pellers(I remember the same "there's a lack of ideas/no fight/no plan B" comments back in the Mancini days too) rather than maybe we are missing something with the players. I don't know how well these sports psychologists work but something isn't right the way we react sometimes IMO it's worth a try.

The fact that kazzydeyna is allowed to troll this persistently is not a good look for this board. That last post is a complete farce.

It's always a bad idea to read here after a loss but I can't fathom the things I read on here consistently about Pep.

We have had the same problems for 3 managers now and people want to bin the third manager. We need to recognize that the spine isn't what it used to be.

Edit: thankfully Neville seems interested in combating the stupidity because I am not

Of the 3 of them gary easily talks the most sense.

I hate myself for asking this. But do you think we would have better or worse team cohesion with either of those 2 plebs in charge?
Oh yeah super cohesive like crazy glue to a point where it transforms into double decker.
Cleaverly zidane and crouch would be top scorer by now.

Pep picked the team most posters wanted, the one that won 5-0 with a brilliant back to front display at West Ham.

In the event he reverted to Claudio but the rest were our choice. They let us & him down & I guess he's as bewildered and sick as we are now.

Some of the performances & efforts were shameful wernt they Aguero,Sterling & Clichy.

1 step forad....2 steps back.....it's the Maine Road Mambo AGAIN.

I suggested Pickering on 2nd January & Joe Hart on 1st July.

Some of the playground gang on here had a much more enlightened view....Barcas No 2, a goal keeper who doesn't have to make saves. Quite a novelty even by their standards.

Absolutely fuckin too right. Me too.
