Everton v Manchester City |16th| Official Matchday Thread

Zab---Richards--Kompany--Garrido
-----------Dejong---------------
---Vieira-----------Barry--------
SWP-------------------Petrov
-----------Tevez--------------

Taylor, Vidal, Boyata, Ireland, RSC, Robinho, Bellamy

I think the plan will be to dominate midfield. Anybody who thinks this will be an easy game needs their head checked.

I tough tight game, i can see us coming from behind to nick this 2-1.

this is a game we should really win if we believe we have a shot at the title, a draw for top 4.

---------------------Given------------------------------

Zab---------Richards-----------Kompany-----------Garrido

SWP---------NDJ----------------Barry--------------Petrov

---------------Tevez-----------Benjani------------------

Bellers to come off the bench if we need him,
Viera to come off the bench if we need to close the game down in the last 20 mins.

I can't see RM dropping Benjani, two games, one goal and 2/3 assists.

i think RSC will get on at some point.

We beat them once earlier in the season, don't see why we cannot do it again.

-Form-wise, Everton have been quite appalling having 2 wins in the last 14 games. However they did manage a good draw away from home with Arsenal last week.

-Think we should be getting SWP back this game.

3-1 City.

EDIT:
Extract from Toffeetalk

I watched their game against Blackburn today and despite them winning 4-1 I wasnt at all impressed by them and I was even less impressed by Blackburn who were quite frankly shite.

Man City barely pressed and werent at all pressed by Blackburn so both sides had so much time on the ball to do what they liked. If we play like we did against Arsenal they wont have any time on the ball what so ever. I expect Cahill to pick up Barry (or Viera) fairly regularly when they have the ball up the back who starts off most of their moves. The defence is dodgy, Benjani and their wingers are normally hot or cold and that leaves the best keeper in the Prem IMO, Tevez who is scoring goals for fun (although his first tonight was terrible keeping from Robinson) and will be their big threat and Bellamy who will put in a good shift.

If we get in their faces and ruffle them up, I am confident (surprisingly) of getting a good result against them providing we put away our chances. I predict the same team as the weekend and something like 2-1 or 3-1 to us with either Donovan or Heitinga to get their first for the club.

They have some clueless fans. Hope we annihilate them just to put this poster in his place.

thats truly pathetic

Just arrived in Mumbai, anyone know what it's like here for seeing premier league games? Partly as a practice run for the 19th

We beat Blackburn easily enough, but there were times when it looked bare in the middle (with just De Jong and Barry patrolling). Bellamy & Petrov tended to stay very wide, and Carlos seemed to rarely come deep.

Everton will string five of Cahill, Osman, Pienaar, Billy Russian, Donovan, Neville and Fellaini across the middle, so I can't see Bobby sending out an unchanged side. What's the word on Ireland & Vieira now? Does anybody know? Suppose, with a rejig, Kompany or Zabaleta could come into midfield too.

1 GOOD game vs an understrength arse-nil and everyone thinks their gonna beat us hahah
too funny tbh

cant wait till tevez runs rings around their shite team

Any news on Ireland and Bridge? Hoping SWP will be available as he was an unused sub v Blackburn

Mancini hasn't had to worry about the opposition in recent weeks, but Bilyaletidinov, Saha, Cahill, Pienaar, Fellaini will need watching. All top class players who are as good as our players.

class players?not one of them would get in our team!
