The confused and disorganised defense and defensive tactics are playing a part in Hart's lack of good form.

I still think he is the best keeper in the country (no other keeper is under anywhere near as much scrutiny - and that was the case prior to his poor form too) but there is no doubt that he is now in poor form.

But the shambolic organisation at the back means that he is constantly having to make decisions in situations that we shouldn't expect out keeper to be in.

He is nowhere near the best in country lets not allow the blue tints to sway our judgement. He is not even top 5 in current form.

Aaron Ramsey is, by a country mile, the best midfielder in the country on current form. Yet he isn't in the top twenty midfielders in the Premier League. I'm not talking about current form. Of course, Hart isn't in the top five on current form. But it's my opinion, based on watching him and everyone else for the last five years, that he is better than the rest in this league. Especially when playing behind a settled and organised defence, as he has at City until this year and at Birmingham before that. But that's just my opinion.

This debate is annoying me now. He's in some absolute shit form at the minute, but he's a class keeper. We've all seen him at his best. De gea was wank for united not so long ago, he's turned out alright through a rough patch. I can remember Cech having a dodgy spell about two years ago too. Nearly all keepers have a poor run if form.

Can't get this, why would a defender head the ball past an onrushing keeper who from the angle of said header should clearly be able to see in time that a backward header is not a good plan, furthermore heading it is ok, but in the direction of the goal and/or the continued run of the attacker rather than a sideways header taking the ball away from immediate dangeris a strange choice. JH maybe was a bit previous rushing out but he would have got to the ball if it had not been headed beyond him, I get the feelin if he'd have stayed on his line and torres had skinned Nasty he would be getting both barrels for not coming out. Hes made far too many errors this year, and I'd be happy to give him stick for them but for me this latest example is a case of bandwagon jumping and lynching the usual suspect ala Kolarov, who its worth saying now is clearly the best LB at the club. We gonna start a witchunt against Gael now too??

1) why does defender ignore the call (you can see it was made)
2) Why does the defender facing the keeper STILL head it. did he have his eyes closed throughout these crucial few seconds, or does he just have appalling reactions
3) Why when choosing to still head it and ignoring a call does he head it in the direction he headed it in.

As stated earlier I get the feeling there are a lot of thick people on here who just follow the herd. Joe gets stick this season and for 80% of the time its been fully deserved, this is not one of those occasions, Nasty who I rate as the most promising young CB in the league is primarily at fault but lets keep hopping around this kangaroo court
Nasty sic had it well under control, simple header back, absolutely no need for Joe to come rushing out

Form is temporary, class is permenant.

The only keeper in Europe I would replace Joe with is Neur from Bayern. Joe will get through this.

He needs the supporters to do exactly that. Support. Calling for his head isn't going to solve anything.

Post of the month.
Watching Pellegrini's post match comments "this cannot be allowed to continue" I think Joe is set for a rest.
Hope this allows him to get himself together.
I agree form is temporary but he has been out of form for at least a year now. He needs a break.

-- Sun Oct 27, 2013 11:01 pm --

De Gea was crap for a while so what did Fergiescum do? Left him out for a while. Same needed here.

He was at his best when chasing things:

Wanted to play for city at birmingham

Wanted to displace Given.

Wanted to be England No.1

Wanted the PL title.

That was when he was world class, we need to get him chasing for something again, luckily I'm not the manager and having to figure out what that could be. Personally I'd go with signing a top keeper to make him fight again but that could backfire (but then... we'd have a top keeper)

He doesn't mess up every match - he saved us in Moscow.

Todays mistake was a howler but he'll be more gutted than anyone.

The usual pattern this season is that Hart makes a mistake which costs us points, usually away from home. The next home game he is retained and has virtually nothing to do and his poor form is forgotten. Then he makes another mistake etc etc.

Get no pleasure in saying it but he needs dropping. He is costing us points and we have no chance of winning anything with a keeper who is making regular mistakes.

this 100%

Embarrassed to hear some of the comments in this thread. Yes he's in a bit of shit form at the moment, but all this media witch-hunting and our own fans getting on his back will do the lad no confidence whatsoever.

Imagine what's going through his head every time he has to make a decision now "Fuck if I fuck this up I'll get slated again on the back pages". His nerves must be shot to absolute shit at the moment.

As one poster said 'form is temporary, class is permanent' in Joe we trust!

Not looking forward to seeing the back pages of the papers tomorrow.

I don't care if he is a good lad or if he is english or whatever he has had enough chances.Get in a new Keeper.
That was all Harts fault no blame on Nasty.

Absolute bollocks.

was sat in the stand behind Hart and he CLEARLY called for the ball, Nasty shouldn't have headed it.

Yes I agree Hart shouldn't have come out that far, but having done so, he shouted for it and should have been left to it.

Name me a current top class keeper that would have done what hart did today?

i cant think of one personally!
