Everyone on here and in this country is to blame

"A decent light hearted thread, I like"! On a serious note though, I think the England set up needs an Enema. That's right a decent clear out all the way through. IMO, the complete FA and it's lot are the same as those in a public school in the early 20th century/Tom Brown style school days:

The head and head teachers sat at the top table keeping a beady, watchful eye ensuring protocal is maintained. The Head Prefect (Manager/Coach) appointed due to his penchant for being a yes man obeying the letter as quoted by the head table. His subordinates (players) fitting the doctrinal pattern of being image fitting and nothing else and on the outside wanting a place in that assembly hall are the 'not worthy's: Decent players that cannot get a look in - the likes of Adam Johnson, Theo Walcott, Joe Hart, Scott Parker, Lee Cattermore etc etc.

That sums up the stuffy FA, what a load of tossers they all are. They do not realise the signifigance of the World Cup, all the St George's flags and home support and about what it all means because they are dated and corrupt to the bone. That enema cannot come quickly enough - "nurse where's that fookin bed pan"!!

Some of what the OP posted was correct but ultimately it comes down to the players and the manger.

People are talking about sending kids to Spain for their footballing education but would it make a gnat's nuts bit of difference?

As has already been mentioned by the OP Adam Johnson is sat at home watching the shower on the pitch disolve before his eyes; a player who can hold the ball up, draw players to him thus making space and who, generally, is able to pass the ball to one of his team-mates. And while we're at it, what has Joe Cole (a player who has similar skills to Johnson) done? Has Capello come home and found him bed with his missus or something? I'm not saying either of these players are England's cure-all but they are both technically good and can keep the ball.

England's 30 man squad had two players who already possess the skills and technical ability needed (supposedly the qualities that the kids being sent to Europe's elite training schools would acquire) and one is at home and the other hasn't yet played.

Meanwhile Emile Heskey his lumbering around the pitch before being subbed for a taller and leaner version of himself.

Roll on the 14 of August!

Capello gave an interview at the end and struggled to get 3 words out in English. That's not a dig at foreigners as my Italian is the same but surely that has to be a disadvantage.

In terms of his stand off "Military" methods I am not sure this is working, Ramsey won us the world cup using "old school methods" but the players were old school. I think the players need a kick up the arse followed by hand round the shoulder, I can't see Capello doing that.

He is far from perfect but Redknapp has that 1 to 1 communication skill with young players who have grown up in a different world than Capello but I doubt the FA will choose him next just like they overlooked Cloughie.

Think about how we were taught football at a young age. If you were a defender, you were told to stay in line as a back four and if you hoofed the ball clear out of the box you were applauded. If you tried to take on a player and failed you were called 'greedy' and 'not a team player'. Even Algeria seemed to have more skill, flair, better and quicker passing ffs.
