Evidence for religion

When the bible instructs you to take your child to the edge of town and kill them for being disobedient, you really should think, this is bollocks and the ravings of an evil ****. A man. Not any benevolent all loving being.

They kind of ignore all the horrible stuff though. Don’t they?

Here is a small, very small selection that shows to anyone who isn’t blinded by their own delusions, that the god of the bible is a horrible evil ****.

Kill those who are not Christian or Jewish:


You must kill those who worship another god. Exodus 22:20


Kill any friends or family that worship a god that is different than your own. Deuteronomy 13:6-10


Kill all the inhabitants of any city where you find people that worship differently than you. Deuteronomy 13:12-16


Kill everyone who has religious views that are different than your own. Deuteronomy 17:2-7


Kill anyone who refuses to listen to a priest. Deuteronomy 17:12-13


Kill any false prophets. Deuteronomy 18:20


Any city that doesn’t receive the followers of Jesus will be destroyed in a manner even more savage than that of Sodom and Gomorrah. Mark 6:11


Jude reminds us that God destroys those who don’t believe in him. Jude 5.

How can any believer read those and the countless others and still believe it came from the creator of the universe that loves us? Unless you’re also a fucking psycho.

Look at Roman history on how they react to threats. They deal with them. There is historical documents where they send in troops to put it down.

Jesus was alleged to have entered Jerusalem on a donkey, with the whole city throwing palms at his feet. Unless the Romans were exactly as stupid as those portrayed in The Life of Brian, that would never have passed without them reacting to it and somebody writing back to Rome saying, we could have a problem here.

All that aside and leaving out many many more things that don’t add up unless you want them to, what is your evidence?

Your ears and what lies between is the starting point. There's no proof of the existence or non-existence of God, nobody knows, it's a matter of opinion. Yet you've decided that we inhabit a purposeless chaos where your and everybody else's actions have no ultimate significance at all. Where's your evidence for that? Odd that we, and the apparatus to ask the question at all, exist don't you think? How do you explain why there is something rather than nothing? I'll help you, you can't.
So instead try to explain why you choose to believe this is a world where love, hope, justice, mercy, compassion, goodness and evil have no ground of meaning. Enlighten virtually all the rest of the planet who believe they have.
