Excited when they signed but turned out to be rubbish

Keegan was great at talking up a new signing. I remember him talking about Christian Negouai like he was some sort of nailed on super star.

He got sent of on his only start i think and despite being with us for 4 years he just disappeared of the face of the earth. His only contribution is that it turns out at some point he dodged a drugs test and got away with it and it was used by Rio as precedent in his case.
That's a great shout.Top of the tree garbage. Literally offered nothing in ability or commitment. An absolute sham. Research on that signing must have been nil. Seem to remember he once punched it in for a dubious winner v Rotherham.

Dave Bacuzzi came from Arsenal a seemed like a good player but never really delivered. Arthur Mann came in from Hearts and also made little impression.

The mid late 1960s team did seem to have a problem with full backs to replace Barrie Betts and Cliff Sear. They ended up with doing without full backs for much of the time with Tony Book playing as sweeper on occasions and Glyn Pardoe in the number 3 shirt was more of a midfielder (not unlike Zinchenko or even Cancelo now). Bobby Kennedy, another midfielder would also play a lot at full back.

Arthur Mann! Now that rings a bell. At the time my mother was Assistant Supervisor in the canteen at Manchester Education Offices and Arthur's missus (whose name I don't recall) worked as one of her underlings. Imagine that today! Why, it's as easy to imagine the Duchess of Cambridge scrubbing floors for a living.

I quite liked Arthur as a player, but he never seemed to get many opportunities, maybe because he wasn't up to it. (It's an odd thing, but City seem to have a hereditary issue with fullbacks. Very few, especially left backs, have been top drawer. You can almost number them on one hand, no matter how far back you go.)

I still blush with embarrassment at this tw@ts goal celebrations...... I give you Bernardo Corradi.
Simplified just Utter dog shit

Isaksson.
Bianchi.
Bojinov.
Santa Cruz.

But top billing goes to...

Corradi.

Nigel Clough. Absolute shite ! Really pissed me off watching this shithouse strolling around and just not giving a shiny shite about having been
given the golden opportunity of wearing our beloved blue shirt

valarie Bojinov,.. not shite, just plagued with injuries and never got going…. Great shame.

There's a category called "I knew he would be gash, and he was". Top of that tree is Bony, followed by Benjani (a Willy McKay special).

Mikheil kavelashvili, murtaz shelia and kakhaber Tskhadadze. Was only a kid all I knew was they were kinkys mates, I expected kinkladze clones. We did not get kinkladze clones.

Bojinov, his reputation as a champ man wonderkid raised expectations, not really his fault his knee exploded.

Bony, after witnessing his incredible Swansea form it appeared he had everything to be a goalscoring machine in that pellegrini team, then we asked him to play like aguero which was never going to go well and he was actually just very shit.
