Lavezzi: 'No Man City contact'
Ezequiel Lavezzi’s agent insists he has “never spoken to Manchester City, but if an offer did arrive, we’d talk to Napoli.”
Reports are swirling round in Italy, England and Argentina that Roberto Mancini’s City are in negotiations for El Pocho.
“We have never spoken to Manchester City,” assured Alejandro Mazzoni on Radio Kiss Kiss.
“If the right offer did arrive, then we could talk it over with Napoli. At the moment an offer has not come in, but that would be a fairly normal event, considering the talent of the player.
“If an important bid is received, then the Napoli President will decide, along with us, whether or not to evaluate these new proposals.
“I have an excellent rapport with President Aurelio De Laurentiis and am not working to take Pocho away from Napoli.”
There are also rumours of a buy-out clause in Lavezzi’s contract that would release him for £29m.
“These are club contracts and I don’t want to talk about it,” said the agent. “If Napoli want to reveal details, that’s fine, otherwise I cannot take that step.”
