I'm not going to get into who said what, Tolm, becuase I like you and respect your opinion. We're all bickering over minor issues here and now we're getting to the rub.

I think the lack of candidates will mean Mancini can hang on for the rest of the season, regardless of what happens.

And if it means dodging another short-term appointment , I'm happy with that. Surely he can scrape 4th.

This is the crux of the real debate for me.

The fact fans are are such poles, provides my stance Mancini stands no chance of getting it right.

He was a divisive appointment (the greatest irony being when I posted Hughes was sacked and the new man woulf divide opinion)

This was as a result of no viable alternative. We are at the same cross roads.

If we are deadly serious, we say to Jose, there's £20m a season for the next five years.

Otherwise, someone else is going to get lucky and get a punt on the richest ticket in town.

Problem is, we are sick of being a suck-it-and-see option.

Would our owners even think twice about paying this man what he wanted if we could get him?

No brainer if we are serious about becoming the best.

I don't think there can be any doubt that the dressing room is not happy. I don't think it ever has been under Mancini. So why is this? There's some relevance to the earlier point that he was perceived as a stop-gap in his first season. But that's gone and it's his duty to sort it out. Has he done that? Doesn't look like it to me.

Only This!

now you have agreed on the history
who do you think/know has downed tools?
and silly question, is mancini aware or not? if so why are they still playing.
and as mentioned before, it may have been you,
if a player can't leave his shit for 90 min he has no place in our club.

Of course the manager is aware, hence the continued run-ins with the same people.

A hangover of Hughes recruits and the dissaffected.

The real concern for me, Tevez is an outstanding pro, but even he can't go on like this.

Another aspect to all this. If Mancini was replaced we have a further problem.

A big enough name who can attract top players.

A big enough name that will instantly command respect with the ones we have.

It would be the biggest irony that given our wealth and opportunity that brings, we could never get the man we want in charge to bring it all together!

Only City.

I'd be prepared to fuck the rest of this season off and wait until summer to get the right man. I've said it before and I'll say it again. We need a leader.

They didn't think twice last time but missed out.................shame JM had a change of heart!

I got the disctinct impression the board were angry at him for leading them on, so I'd be surprised if they'd go back to him on principle.

Is it a possibility that we can go back though? Thats the big question as pro or Anti Mancini, the reality of the situation is, who next?

He really is the only game in town for me.

hence the silly question...
so if its just the system employed on match days thats the problem.
it don't seem to be training from the the reports we get, even the players not playing regular like swp are having a laugh etc.
then ditching this defensive mode has got to be the way forward(excuse the pun). it has to be for everyones sake.
i'm not necessarily up for another mangerial change, that will just set us back again.

Tolmie... has something happened in the last couple of days for you to be on such a downer?

I read you a few days ago waxing lyrically about Mancini and how we needed to stick by him, and that the board were all for backing him come what may.

Yet today it's as if someone has suggested they are getting set to pull the plug.

Dish the dirt mate... what's happened!

I'm on a downer because believe it or not, I don't enjoy watching us at the moment, I feel deprived.

My own personal take has been Mancini has not been given time and he is a good guy, determined to succeed.

However, you cannot pick and choose your results in this league, targeting points, as he appears to have done in recent weeks.

The Premier League is like no other. Mancini was ultimately relieved of his duties at Inter, despite his achievement, because he couldn't get the job done in terms of winning the Champions League.

I increasingly fear Bobby and English football might not be a good fit, just as Robinho wasn't.

My take is City felt they owed Mancini. He did us a favour when he agreed to take it on last season, with nobody else willing on a short-term.

It will be a case of who blinks first.
