Train the cat then send the cat up to destroy it.

Job done.

The magpies in our garden actually bully our cat they're too big for it to kill them. Don't know why it's illegal to kill Magpies since they are hardly an endangered species and they actually kill other endangered birds.
They are having a go at any birds around them this morning they really are a vicious pair of bastards, i know they are only protecting their nest bust they are attacking everything.
Iv had enough now, 6 this morning screeching away, got to sort them today somehow

The game keepers on the big estates go around this time of year and demolish the magpies nests using long poles fixed together, they don't actually shoot the magpies. Without a nest they don't breed and over time the bastards disappear.

I don't know what poles they use, but with a bit of imagination you can hooch something together, perhaps you can buy lightweight plastic pipe/conduit and connect it together to make it long enough to poke the fuck out of the nest...

Looks good but where sells them?

fishing tackle shops

If you can't get to one of those

<a class="postlink" href="http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Extreme-Fishing-Catapult-Hunting-Catapult-Sling-Shot-/321073501871?pt=UK_SportingGoods_Hunting_ShootingSports_ET&hash=item4ac178d6af" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Extreme-Fishi ... 4ac178d6af</a>

Dont forget your ammo - ball bearings or stones.

Just be careful where you aim it and consider where the ones that miss are going to land ;-)

Buy some ear plugs, that's what i do and they only make a racket for a few weeks in Spring.

just to stretch it a bit further, you can buy a wire cage with a dummy magpie in . The real ones come down to kill the dummy and the door shuts behind them. There are pest control firms who use this method, saves buying a cage.
