F!!**?* Magpies

I thought this was going to be a thread abusing our resident Geordie, ChrisNUFC.

You can imagine my disappointment.

We get 3 or 4 of them on a regular basis. Last year two pairs of blackbirds nested in a conifer in next door's garden and a magpie struck. it ate all the eggs or chicks out of one nest but amazingly both pairs worked together to keep the magpie from the remaining nest. They made a hell of a racket and attacked the magpie when it tried to raid the nest several times a day but they were successful in raising the chicks.
Iv come to the conclusion i fuckin hate Magpies, dont care what Mad Eyed Screamer says wheres my blunderbuss

Cheers mate but not seen or heard them since the weather turned yesterday, hopefully they have pissed off nest building somewhere else, but all these posts of Magpies attacking songbirds, dogs, cats has made me hate them, vicious noisy squarky bastards

Goshawks are better than Sparrowhawks for killing Magpies, but they are rare in this country.
Goshawks are only found in remote areas of Britain cos of gamekeeper persecution, ironic really by killing the Goshawks have meant more Magpies and crows which still eat grouse and Pheasant eggs, go to a public park in Berlin are u will see Goshawks and fewer Magpies.

So buy a stuffed Goshawk put it on your bedroom windowsill .
You don't fly them do you? I could of lived with peregrine

No never had a Bird of Prey. A mate used to have a Harris Hawk and a Buzzard.
I enjoy watching the Peregrines in Manchester City centre .

Sum ting wong with the power hose scenario comes to mind.

I have woods behind my house with magpies, crows and all sorts nesting there. The fcukers get agitated when the Mrs and yours truly don't put out enough grub for them.Plenty of wee birds like robins and blackbirds also and it's nice to watch them all in the back garden.

Not so long ago,her indoors was lying sleeping on the couch and one of the crows started frantically pecking it's beak at the back window until she woke up............maybe they're looking out for us?

They use a bird controller at the Etihad in the evening. I have forgot what kind of bird is used. Was talking to the guy who handles it. He said it is not used to kill but deter other birds from settleing or building nests.

Similar to us that mate,i'm out throwing them bread most days
We back on to a bird sanctuary, took us 12 months to get use to all the noise they make when we moved in
Every bird going is in the back garden winding the dog up most days.

My hatred for these horrible birds is growing, we have had a lovely yellow and red headed finch nesting at the front of the flat for a couple of days now and a pair of friggin magpies have turned up and are trying to attack the finch and its nest its horrid to watch but what can i do, another couple of hours and they will kill it im sure, bastards
