Reminds me of a kid who is always told they're brilliant and then really struggles with any kind of hardship or constructive criticism. He's been earmarked as the future of English football since he was in his mid-teens. Birmingham retired his shirt number FFS

Didn't have to fight for his place anywhere. Never went out on loan and took a kicking in the lower leagues. Just constant praise and promotion. Makes it hard to accept criticism because it cuts right through to your sense of self. Seems quick to blame everyone else as a result
Yep. I’m sure I remember reports of Dortmund’s dressing room being happy that he’d left.

He's done a brilliant job, notably giving young kids a chance, keeping the spirit and harmony within the squad and taking us so far in Euros/WC but i think 4 tournaments is long enough and a fresh start with a new manager should be the way forward - Not that the next manager will please everyone and they'll face the same criticism and abuse Southgate gets.

I would go with a combo management team of Pochettino and Bielsa to take us to the next World Cup. Poch could handle the media/management side of it whilst Bielsa could bring in some radical coaching and tactical nouse. He may even breathe back some life into our Kalvin!

But one thing is for certain...the Waistcoat has to go.

Bielsa is a great shout.
The guy is batshit and I’ll be here for it.

Bielsa for me, Southgate should never have got the job in the first place. Add to that he should have been sacked every six months of his shocking reign. He has had luck in every fucking draw of his tenure, and hasn't the technical nouse to capitalise on it. Fucking clueless.
It would be hilarious having Jack Duck worth as England manager.

He'd build the team around Kalvin Phillips

Stuart Pearce said on Talkshite before the semi he's a player that likes to be told he's good and if anyone tells him otherwise he goes into a strop.

Who would you like to see take over?

I love the Bielsa suggestion. However I expect it will be one of Howe/Potter/Gerrard/Lampard because the FA think more about revenue than on the pitch.

Out of that lot I'd give Potter a clean slate.

He’s do e an okay job but way off tactically, every time we’ve met a weel managed side with good players we’ve. Come up short, before a tournament if you list teams likely to win it we have never beaten any of them, France, Italy, Croatia,Spain. That isn’t bad luck.
We need a coach that understands how to set up a team and get the best out of some good players and be adventurous.
Put the Spanish 11 against an 11 taken from the England squad, not the 11 picked, the only obvious superiority is Rodri over Rice. They all knew their jobs and how to play together, we didn’t.
Not sure any English candidate is good enough myself.Need to look abroad.

Klopp would be awesome but can't see it. Maybe Poch?

Wouldn't want Bielsa.

Potter/Howe would be the safe options.

Gerrard/Lampard surely not.
