FA Cup 5th round draw - Huddersfield Town (Away)

I looked at their squad. Didn't recognise many of their players but they have Dean Whitehead, and Harry Bunn (ex-City), and Nahki Wells who I remember from Bradford City's recent Cup runs.

The big City connection other than Mooy, and Bunn is Mark Lillis who I remember from the 80s.

Have you watched any of their games in full this season or last?

Their home game against Wigan was televised recently. Mooy played well. They had most of the pressure, caught on the break, lost 0-1. The game wasn't a good indicator of how they will play against us, probably the reverse. They're a very decent Championship team although I wouldnt rate them as highly as the Boro team that knocked us out of the cup.

Huddersfield fan here in peace...
Think it's a good draw for us, gives us an idea of where we'll need to improve if we defy the so-called experts and get promoted. A shame Mooy can't play, as he's been a big part of our success this season and it sounds like plenty of you guys would like to see him in action. In the two previous cup games he's been on the bench and on in the second half. I imagine Wagner will pick a strong side but he tends to rotate regularly anyway regardless of the opposition. For the Rochdale game there was only one player with no league starts and that was Collin Quaner who we didn't sign in time for the Ipswich game, so while he did make a few changes it wasn't a second-string side really, other than Coleman in goal who many fans rate higher than Danny Ward anyway.
I expect you'll be given the whole of the South Stand end, which was originally meant to be the away end when the stadium was built but a good third of it has become the singing section for most games this season, another factor in our success this time out. It technically holds just over 4k but is usually limited to approximately 3,800 or so.
Presumably Pep will have one eye on your European Cup game but I'd expect the side you put out to still be strong. I can see us pulling off a shock but I can just as easily see us being humiliated, hopefully not to the extremes of the 10-1 which thankfully was before my time!
I don't expect the egg-chasers to have too much of a negative effect on the pitch, especially not the way they played last season!

As for pubs before the game, the two at the station aren't normally set aside for home or away fans, and you'll be fine as long as you behave- they do get pretty crowded though, especially with the bumper crowds (for little old Huddersfield) we've been getting this season. The Cherry Tree (Wetherspoons) just down John William Street from the station is often recommended for visiting fans, the clientele there and at the branch of Paddy Power next door aren't our finest residents though!

So, good luck and all that, but don't take us for granted! ;)

Also with regard to "firms", I thought we'd all left that nonsense behind in the 1980s, all you get now is a bunch of spoiled teenagers who watched The Football Factory and think it's glamourous to kick seven bells out of each other. We have our handful of knobheads as no doubt you do too, but the vast majority just want to enjoy a game of football... and given the dross we had to watch under Robins and Powell, I can't see why anyone would want the distraction of a fight now that we've got a decent side!

They are on Sky on Thursday night at home to Brighton, so that should be a good match to see how well they play.

Does anyone have an informed opinion of when TV will announce the games?

there's only one replay from 4th round off the top of my head i think, so in theory shouldnt take too long?

Tommy Smith and Jordy Hiwula as well (I think Hiwula's on loan at Bradford?).

Cheers mate, good luck for the rest of the season, apart from when we meet obviously.
