FA Cup Final - Post Game thread

The little fella Bernardo looked shot today, I think we have pushed him enough, the guy is running on fumes, I can understand him wanting an easier league

We have no god given right to win every trophy. Have we turned into entitled cunts like Rags and Gooners? It was a bad day at the office for sure and we were off our best by a long way. Some of the posts on here today are a disgrace. As a fan base are we not better than that.
Three trophies this season including the most important one and you would think we were failures reading some of these comments.
On the piss all week were they? Yeah right. What a fucking insult.

To be clear, the team Pep selected made a lot of sense on paper. He knew they'd play a diamond in midfield and look to break at every opportunity, so he decided to play Stones for his ability on the ball, Ake for his recovery pace and Kovacic for maximum possession. They were totally neutralised until we gifted them a goal. Doku was fantastic when he came on, but I wouldn't have started him against Wan-Bissaka either.

Players let him down today. He clearly told them as much at half time, because we were a lot more like ourselves second half. But we gave ourselves too much to do. Lacked quality in moments.
i don’t understand why stones when he hasn’t been playing for a while and there were in form cbs available.

i had a horrible feeling about this game, there was a very nonchalant vibe about it, i’ve spent the week knocking on wood and saying anulo mufa. meh, i’m very sad now :(

The Boys in Blue didn’t give in. They fought to the end. Today it just wasn’t as good as usual or enough.
They’ve given us their all over the past few years and played their hearts out for City.
So although I’m disappointed and downhearted I can’t be angry with them or overly criticise.
Thank you City, thank you lads, thank you fans. We just get ourselves geared up ready for next season and hope they, and we, come back refreshed and raring to go.

We are still THE BEST TEAM IN THE LAND AND ALL THE WORLD.

I look forward to us being back to our normal record breaking selves next season but for now I need to go and lie down in a darkened room and maybe get emotional. I think this one will take a bit longer to come to terms with.

Have a good summer.
All the best.
Eccles Blue.

Never like the scum beating us but am pretty none plus through out the whole game no nerves before or anything! Maybe am still basking in our fourpeat

No shame or blame today, We just did not turn up and play,

City and Pep have to be ruthless in a cull this summer and rebuild and buy world-class players that go straight into the starting 11, Big players like KDB Walker Stones Silva will be asked the question, Nunes Gomez Phillips should be first out the door for me,

Very surprising and unprofessional, a real surprise with this club and management that they allowed the players out celebrating and looking the worse for wear in midweek.
Celebrate by all means BUT after the season ends ie today.

On the pitch, usual failings in front of goal with poor finishing and keystone cop defending leading to a goal.

Big summer needed, ageing players in Kev and Kyle, injury prone players like Stones, Silva probably on his way, cannot afford the same errors as recent years with Phillips, Nunes etc. We need improvements in the 1st 11, not spending on squad players and youth.

Also wouldnt hurt to have a genuine goalscorer option on the bench, doesnt have to be technically gifted but must be some out of contract players who if needed can offer us something in the box.

oh, sack our set piece coach, he is stealing a living. How Pep cannot see this is baffling.

Denied one if not 2 clearly penalties as per the norm but its not why we lost today, think complacency had a lot to do with it.
I don't think that any of this is true. Many of these players have played 50 games+ this year so they deserve to relax a bit. They weren't going to need to beat United tactically because we knew they were going to sit on their arses in their own half and play us on the break and it still could of gone either way.

The FA Cup was a bonus to how difficult it was to win the league this year and we only didn't win it because of a cockup, it's not the end of the world.

You cannot underestimate how hard it is to win the Premier League like we have this year, it's mental. United didn't even qualify for Europe via the league and they're celebrating like this is the only trophy they've ever won.
