Look, we all like laser accurate sharp screaming shots into the corners of the goal - yesterday that didn't happen - a game too far after the monumental effort of reeling in Liverpool and Arsenal in a titanic season. On another day, Haaland's, Walker's and Alvarez's efforts go in.

Factor in the lack of sleep on top of the excessive alcohol. Some of them will have gone more than 36 hours without any sleep. When your body is used to regular sleep and zero alcohol and then you go out on the lash till daylight the following day then the recovery time is going to be several days. Undoubtedly affected our performance and sent the wrong signals to the opposition.
 
Should we have been on the piss on Sunday - No, did Pep get the selection and plan wrong - Yes, we’re we complacent - Yes. But we would still have won without this fucker. He is STILL their best player only now he has his stooges like Madley to do his dirty work. Madley gave us less than fuck all.
Pep never calls these cunts out - we should . We should sing this old one and encourage other clubs to do the same - we will never get a fair shake with this **** in charge

Wasnt much difference in how they played than previous derbies we just didnt move the ball quickly enough and looked like we had played one game too many.that run in for the league took a monumental effort to topple arsenal who were probably better than us this season.the penalties we didnt get the rags would of got imo the ref could of booked half their side but let play go on he was terrible yesterday.we need a world class number 8 and a winger in the summer.off to town to celebrate 4 in a row.onto next season

Pep's not stubborn - he's a genius. Anyone who sits near the dugout knows that some of our fans are screaming 'forward! forward! forward!. Pep occasionally turns and tells these fans 'NO, NO, NO - we don't do that'. Pep is still educating some of our fans.
 
I switched over to an English BBC station at halftime and couldn’t believe what the score was. They were all enjoying it in the studio. Don’t know who they wanted to win though.

Losing anything to your city rival is a boot in the balls, regardless if you have won the ieague, especially so when you don’t fucking turn up.
 
i watched Rodri yesterday a cuple of times concentrating on him. He was totally knackered imo. Always played with his shirt tucked in, always looked trim and tidy but yesterday he looking absolutely knackered, shirt out, pass and jog. I do think the guys feel flogged out at the moment. I totally excuse them for that, I mean how many games we played this season ?feels like more than any other team. And the FA cup, yeah its not the biggest for us right now. I suspect if that was the CL final we would have put in a different performance. Im sort of glad they didnt have to go all out yet again.
 
that party with most of the squad piss drunk then no training until Wednesday. I am quite sure we didnt do that last season only few days before the CL final.

we should have waited with the party until after the parade, and then they can drink a lot and arrive to international camp piss drunk who cares...
 
Waited for the cold light of day before offering my perspective.
Following last seasons heroics I honestly didn’t expect anything this year yet we won the Super Cup, World Club and retained the Premier League.
Yesterday was whatever you want to call it but offering up such comments as Haaland is shit or Stones is a wanker is a pathetic way to handle disappointment or use as a coping mechanism.
This squad has given us everything we could ever have hoped for.
Going out to the World Club Cup and also deep in the CL and FACup should be applauded.
As for losing to the Rags yesterday-shit happens but it’s how we cope with that shit that makes us stand out from the crowd.
Changes are inevitable but it’s how we handle it that matters.
Love this club.

Why do people keep mentioning Saturday ? We played West Ham at 16:00 UK time on Sunday. The players went out celebrating on Sunday night and were seen still out boozing until 5am on Monday morning. It was definitely a factor (maybe not the most important one) in us turning up lacking focus and energy and making avoidable errors for most of the first half.

Let's not be down, we've had a fantastic end to a different season, undefeated in the league since early December and bagging 4 in a row, yesterday was always going to be difficult regardless of how shite them red mardarses are.

I'm feeling fine about yesterday, we win some we lose some, we win as a team and lose as a team, there was no bitterness from pep or the players, we even gave them a guard of honour as they went to walk the steps. That shows proper class and a humbleness.
Do you think them lot would do that? Not a chance.

Hold your heads up high blues, we are the best team in the land and all the world and we will be celebrating that later as we welcome the history makers yet again back to Manchester.

By the way folks we played the last league game a week today, that’s SUNDAY not Saturday as I keep reading in postings.

This team, these players, have given everything for the past few years. We’ve broken more records than anyone thought possible. They practically leave their blood, sweat and tears on the pitch for US.

I’ve had 17 hrs to mull over this and can’t believe how entitled some people are coming across as.

Last week I kept reading, oh we’ll walk this, we’ll beat them easily etc., etc., etc., and I kept thinking, no we don’t have a God given right to win this and many a slip between cup and lip.

Maybe I’ve had too many years of typical City but until the whistle blows at the end of the game I am never 100% sure we will win.

Let’s celebrate the victories we have had this season and try to remember that we are still, THE BEST TEAM IN THE LAND AND ALL THE WORLD.

Sorry to be positive but hey ho, my Great-Grandson had a fabulous day out and Zoom called me last night (via Dad’s phone) to tell me how much he’d enjoyed it and, as I said earlier, he said we won the league and were 31 points ahead of the other team playing yesterday.

A young fan who will grow up remembering his first Wembley visit positively. :-)

Onwards and upwards with the Boys in Blue.

Agree with all of these. Would prefer to keep Bernie of course. Also think Kev will be saved for the big games next season and Walker will play less for the same reason. A big transition really.

Yes we have just won 4 in a row but you can't tell me that the standard of our football this last season has matched that of our trophy winning seasons in the last 6 years.

Yet again we've made history but it's been a hard watch at times. You'd have to be blind to see that we've simply not been as effective as we have been in previous seasons. As yesterday and the Arsenal game showed, teams now know that if they stay deep and compact we will struggle.

Great Post. Of course it hurts to lose to the rags but we didn't play well for a lot of the game and a few things aligned for them. We've had a great season and once the 115 charges are sorted out in our favour that will be even better.
I do think thar 4 in a row is an even greater achievement as there are signs in my view that our dominance is going to be severely tested in the next year or 2 with
Pep probably leaving
KDB and a couple other brilliant players either leaving or coming to the end
Others getting stronger etc.
It will be interesting to see how City cope

They held back before the CL Final last year though compared to the 5am finish following the title this year. That said I think yesterdays defeat was mostly tactical.
