FA Cup Final - Post Game thread

Interesting to read some of the comments - particularly about being out on the lash/not really caring/not taking an FA cup final/derby seriously - I'm not sure how much of that is true but if any of it is then I think we that spent 300 quid plus going to Wembley today are entitled to feel disappointed (not with the season as a whole - just today's game)
All a bit tongue in cheek mate. I think we all know the team set out to win, but they are still only human and can't give it 110% indefinitely. The rags on the other hand only turn up against us and the dippers so were relatively fresh.

She live streamed her own arrest ;)

Hilarious. You'd think if you were smuggling drugs through an airport and you got caught, you'd just hold your hands up and say 'yep, you got me,' not throw a hissy fit. Who the fuck thought that the Netherlands' drug laws extended to transporting them through an airport, presumably to smuggle them to the UK, where they're not even legal anyway?

What an entitled bunch of fannie’s we’ve got on here.
Criticise how we played by all means but don’t ever criticise the desire of this team.
They’ve been to the well far more often than we can appreciate and yet people accuse them of ‘not trying’, ffs.
We’ve had a bad day at the office but won the ONE trophy we’d have all picked when the season started.
As for all the ‘Pep fucked up brigade’ just wait until he’s gone, then you might appreciate what we have/had. Then again, maybe not….
Deep down we all know your right, but this hurts - a lot. And a sermon like this, doesn't help.

Pep did fuck up playing those CB's, and letting celebrations last till mid week. Of course he's got history of doing this kind of thing in big games, but after the hurt subsides, we forgive him. :)

Just got back
They were more more hungry for the win than we were. Everyone underestimated them and the underdog won.

However they are still cunts.
And Rodri is fucking GOD!
Not only on the pitch, he is the first player to walk over and clap our away support before and after the game.

What a fucking LEGEND that bloke is

Let’s be honest here, after the treble I expected a drop off. To win the the league the best domestic trophy and 4 in a row I’m well happy with that. It just does not hurt the same for me anymore. I was more upset against Wigan. It does not make sense in my head losing a fa cup derby but that’s how I feel. It’s good to be blue and proud of the team. Let get to Manchester to see the premier league, club World Cup and super cup. Still pinching myself from where we have come from.

The lid of the intense pressure cooker of the needing to win to win the premier league was lifted and we couldn’t recreate that intense desire. We celebrated too soon. The main job was done but to the fans, beating these at Wembley was important. It was not to be sadly and our intensity was nowhere near where it has been in recent weeks. A great achievement winning the league but tinged with a bit of disappointment today.
Yeah, if only celebrations were held this week after the bus parade.

Ahh well, looking forward to next season now. Not interested in the Euro's with Wokegate running the show, his brand of football is akin to root canal work.

The players are human after all. Thanks lads for the most incredible 12 months of our history. Champions again Ole Ole !!! Looking forward to another feast of football next season with Pep at the helm. Happy if we ONLY win the title again.

I know for a fact from a family member that works there that some city players were pissed as fuck at 5am on Wednesday morning.

Can't do that.

Why not wait until next week??

Arrogant thinking they just had to turn up.

Even worse than I thought if that's true. Totally unacceptable.

30k fans saving up and spending a whole day travelling to and from London. Owe it to them to at least prepare right, regardless of how things pan out on the pitch. I'm shocked a club that leaves nothing to chance would allow that to happen and it's rag-like arrogance (something we've despised for decades) if that is true. Bad enough getting bladdered on the Saturday and trying to get it out of your system, but to continue until midweek is ridiculously unprofessional. Fuming.

Got to feel for all the fuckers that paid £225 to watch that shite. Infact, Kev should refund them all

What the fuck was that?
I met my oldest friend and his son before the game, they had flown in from Canada. Last time over for a game was 2019. £1,000 pound each for their tickets, £795 each air fare and £350 hotel. I feel sorry for them.

The first half hour was a nothing game. We gifted the opening goal but I was still calm as I believed it would be a wake up call. The second goal was a killer blow as it gave them something to sit back on for the rest of the game. We huffed and puffed in the 2nd but the goal was too late. I feel if Alvarez puts his away there was enough time to patiently claw back the next. Haaland cracked the bar and a few balls fizzed through that on another day someone puts it away.

It is a gutting end to a great season. Ultimately our success is defined by leagues and we still got it done while under immense pressure. Was it wise to have players out on the lash going into a final? Probably not but then I respect the ebbs and flows of this title race has been a bottled up feeling of "we can not drop a single point" for weeks and that was relief that it was all over. For the other lot this game was their be all and end all.

Yeah. To be honest I’m looking forward to a break from football. Felt like last season Josh flowed into this one and we have had 2 seasons of non stop pressure. I need a break from it :-)
