FA Cup Final Post Match thread

For me the game seemed to be very similar to how we played in the champions league matches and really all our away performances, no intensity at all with no plan b. Everything was just 1 dimensinional, sideways passes instead of hitting them speed, it was all just to easy for Wigan. And to thier credit they played brilliantly and fully deserved to win.

The thing that has dissapointed me under mancini this year is the fact that he hasnt learnt from this all season, and it has happened on countless occasions. He sometimes seems to have this attitude that because we have better players we automatically should be winning these games.

what happened with barry to get zaba sent off? people are blaming barry but why?

Possibly because Barry had possession on the half way line near the touchline, turned and decided to pass the ball about 20 yards infield, without looking, to a Wigan player who ran forward and was then chopped by Zabba.

Suicidal ball, didn't look where he was passing.

Like Kompany's mistake earlier in the season led to Jimmy getting sent off against WBA.

Shit happens, write this season off and look forward to the next one.

Barry attempted a completely blind pass straight across the width of the field. It was aimless, pointless and put their best player, Mcmanaman throughish on goal. He still had alot to do and I thought Zab didn't really need to make the challenge, but it was poor from Barry.

As a team....fucking hell....seen more urgency in a dead man.
We were Stuart Pearce-esque, which is the worst thing you can say about anything, even dead people. Get that fucker out...yep, get that fucker out. He's shit. Queue the sheep. It's why I stayed away from here, coz you slag off Dave who knew the crack).

Today was our last 18 months in microcosm. A culmination of all that has been going wrong for months and months and months.

Slow, ponderous build up. Lack of movement. Struggling to break teams down. Stupid mistakes (Barry, how many is that?).

We've seen it again and again this season. We can't say today was a one off. It wasn't.

We have a team of world class players who have been punching MILES below their combined weight for a long time, but we have ridden our luck. Today, our luck ran out.

Changes are now inevitable, and you would be hard pushed to say they are not needed.

You've hit the nail on the head.
