There seems a genral consensus that we didn't turn up today and that the better team (on the day) won
there is no issue with the ref (didn't get it all right but generally fair)
the blame game seems to be shared between
a) the players' attitude and effort
b) RM's tactics
c) the destabilising of the club by the rumours that were, (having bubbled under for a while), allowed to explode onto the meeja front pages on the eve of / morning of the FA Cup Final and cii) the failure of City's Press Office to sort this
Any thoughts on how these factors interplayed ?
If I was guessing
- Spanish duo pursue Pellegrini
- Mancini gets angry threatens resignation
- players sense tension / are distracted + mancini is distracted.
- press office ignore all of it as City do want pellegrini in and bob gone.
- we play shockingly badly
Then how do we explain Wigan? Roberto Martinez is leaving for Everton, and somehow they didn't get distracted.

Wigan played 9 at the back, so I don't think pace would have done it....tho I know what you mean
A player who will beat a man and whip in a cross is needed tho
We play a style where we need several intricate passes and flicks to come off around the boss to create chances. Great when all are on song, but today....

I'm not being funny, but i dont understand what you're saying?Joycee Banercheck said:Fantastic. Someone posted us against those fucks. Have you seen the difference? How's he not kept that going? Coz he can't.Mrmcfc said:Our midfield was woeful today, truly shocking display.
Where to start?...
The Tevez and Nasri substitutions were absolutely baffling considering they were the only players creating upfront. Certainly others deserved to be subbed before those two... Aguero, Silva and Toure for example.
Silva was particularly dreadful today, his game was summed up for me in the second half when Mcmanamanamanamanamanaman (i believe) literally walked past him on the edge of the box. It was genuinely shocking for a professional footballer to not even get a foot in.
Although he's never been the quickest, Barrys lack of mobility today was seriously abused. Yaya basically walked around the pitch all match gasping for air. Whilst Wigan won the midfield battle with ease and played between the lines no problem at all.
We seriously need to put some energy into the center of midfield, there was absolutely no pressure on the ball at times. And that could have been resolved by putting on some industrious legs in the form of Milner and Rodwell.
Also, how hard is it to spot when a player needs help?
Clichy was given an absolute torrid time, yet mancini does fuck all.
Put milner on that side with him, if you're going to put him on a wing. At least milner puts in a shift defensively and could have stopped mcmanamananans significant impact on the game.
