FA Cup Final Post Match thread

Bob`s fault I`m afraid. Got his tactics and team selection wrong. Playing against 3 at the back means you have to get round the back of the oppenents defence.
Can`t believe he didn`t start with Milner, and only 1 striker. We`ve played our best football with 1 up front. Aguero should have started on the bench.
Then the substitution of Tevez, when it was obvious Yaya and Silva were having stinkers. Felt sorry for both Tevez and Nasri as they looked the more dangerous of the attacking players.
Sorry Bob, but I reckon you boobed today.

ps well done Martinez & Wigan

My thoughts on a few of the players.

Barry - Dreadful. Many on here always say he's the most underrated player or the best player we have etc. etc. but I just don't see that this season. Last season he played very well but this season he seems to have got even slower (if that's possible). He can't tackle to save his life giving away stupid free kicks, doesn't chip in with goals and that stupid pass you wouldn't see an under 12 player do that. I'd keep him as a squad player to play some home games next season but no way should he be a regular starter.

Yaya - Can produce moments of absolute magic but has to be the laziest player I have ever seen and we had Adebayor! I was screaming and screaming for him to press their players, get some tackles in, show a bit of desire but all he dd was jog around the pitch at a leisurely stroll.

Kompany - This season hasn't been his best. Someone needs to get hm to stop diving into tackles. He misses about 70% of them and when he does that leaves us short at the back and under pressure.

Clichy - The less said the better. Not since Maicon vs Bale have I seen a full back play so wank.

Overall it was very disappointing to see our players show absolutely no passion or desire in that game and looked like they thought it was a pre season friendly not a cup final. Zaba once again was the only player who actually put a shift in and took a red card for the team. Congratulations to Wigan though they played very well and deserved to win.

Wigan played 9 at the back, so I don't think pace would have done it....tho I know what you mean

A player who will beat a man and whip in a cross is needed tho

We play a style where we need several intricate passes and flicks to come off around the boss to create chances. Great when all are on song, but today....

No they didnt

Thet pressed us all over the park to the point where Hart had no out ball to our defenders because Wigans front 3 were so high up the pitch forcing Hart to punt it long.

When we did manage to get the ball we were so slow to move it from back to front those same players that were pressing our defenders had enough time to them drop deep and yes defend with 9 men

Watch the game again but watch it from a Wigam perspective and tete you will see things differently. The performance today was shambolic utterely utterely shambolic but no professional football should put in lesas than 100% and show less desire to win than the opposing team

Thier front 6 worked really really hard the lot of them they were truly excellent - ours were a fucking joke.

correct , we were shite all over the park i dont think ive seen zabba, nasty, and clichi play so badly, tevez and nasri should of stayed on silva and aguero should of gone off . and yaya should apologise to every city fan who payed good money to go today.
i can handle losing hey im a long suffering city fan but not like that ! mancini will be lucky to be in a job at mcfc next season!!!!
this 100%

Just got back in to the hotel after the game. Great afternoon in the grounds of Wealdstone , but as for the game; piss poor performance. We just seemed very flat and barely looked like scoring. No complaints about the red card, and no complaints that the better team won. Still can't understand why Mancini didn't send on Lescott after the sending off though, instead of bringing Milner on. Ah well; another one of Bob's ''different'' substitutions. Too many of our star players just didn't turn up on the day; Merlin, Kun and Yaya all did precious little. And even Zab was off his game. Very disappointing all round.

You must have been pissed mate, Jimmy was already on when Zab was sent packing.

that perfortmance was just how we have been all season ... poor. Everyones to blame, not the chosen few that people want to blame. If we are #Together in success, then we have to be #Together in failure too.
