I find among true match going footy fans their is still far more hatred for the rags and dippers. Mainly because as of yet towns with teams are not full of City plastics in replica shirts, where as plastic rags and dippers wind up footy fans nation wide.Great post. There’s a strong case for this game being played at old Trafford. But since semi’s stopped being played at neutral grounds, increasing traffic congestion means that many grounds couldn’t cope with 40,000+ fans travelling in from outside the city.Really the semi finals should be shared around at different games across the country though.
OT is full every week with many fans from well outside Manchester, sure they could cope at least as well as Wembley. On this occasion half the crowd coming from just down the road. And that game was played on a relatively quiet Sunday afternoon with thousands of empty seats in the Chelsea end. The problems would have been even worse if both sets of fans had been approaching Birmingham from the same direction
