Everyone did know the criteria before and everyone who wasnt in the cup scheme knew what'd happen. That doesn't mean loyal blues who wont be going aren't entitled to have a moan about it and get sneered at by others on here.

When United brought the scheme in 90% of Blues on here posted about them mugging off their own fans and forcing them to sign up. Soon as it happens to us were slating Blues for not joining.

I've got tickets for the semi and final both times so I'm O.K but I wont be telling others who have outside commitments that they should sign up for something they aren't sure they can afford.

Amazes me how arrogant a small percentage of our fans have become.

United's scheme is compulsory, City's isn't, that's not the same thing. You have the rules in front of you and you make a choice whether it suits you or not to join.

What's then hard to take is people complaining now about it when it's been in place for 3/4 years and it only becomes an issue for the semis and final.

Remember it was brought in as City decided they had to do something about the poor cup attendances and however you look at it, that has worked

Citys may as well be compulsory going forward fella.

Like you said in lots of respects its worked and the club is making money and the cup games dont have full tiers empty.

I just feel sorry for those missing out as they clearly didnt think they could afford to take the gamble on being able to afford cup tickets in the future or may have still made it to every cup game and still missed out.

Just an observation anyway! Hope those without get sorted somehow even if it means being in with the Wigan lot.

I've got a "football" bank account that i stick £100 quid a month in. Covers my ST, cup matches and spending money for each match (at the minute). Anything left at the end of the season is my holiday spending money. Not for everyone, but a different way of saving up for your ST and spreading the costs.

That's fantastic for you. Congratulations.

Not sure what your issue is. I understand everyones circumstances are different, but this way works for me and may do for others. I much prefer this than being hit with a huge one off payment in May/June which is holiday time etc and loads of other things to pay for. I make sacrifices on other stuff in my personal life to be able to afford it, just.

I don't have an issue. Just not sure what the point of your post was.

I certainly don't have a problem with anyone who has joined the scheme (as I have in the past and will in the future) or anyone that gets a ticket as a result of being in a scheme.

How people chose to pay for that is up to them. But totally irrelevent to an argument that some people can't practically join the scheme.

-- Fri May 03, 2013 4:59 pm --

im for one not being arrogant,or saying your a thick twat for not joining the cup scheme, just stating a fact its your choice, like everything else in life you make the choice and stick by it,rightly or wrongly its up to you

So next season the club say that if you pay £200 you will be guaranteed a ticket to the final ahead of anyone who doesn't pay.

Plenty of notice, clear choice whether or not to join.

Then in a few years, more and more people pay that money. Less and less tickets go to the long term supporters who supported the club through thin and thinner. You still have plenty of notice, you still have a choice whether to join or not.

Do you think you're entitled to speak up or should you just accept it?

You don't seem to have much of a clue about the real world I've got to say.

It is not hard to get a credit card, they have ones just for people with poor credit or low incomes.

So get one and only use it for tickets.

Like I said you don't seem to have much of a clue about the real world.

Why will it be compulsory? We're now moaning about something that hasn't and may not even happen.

Are you serious?

Yes

Anyone who has a season ticket at city obviously has some disposable income. Why wouldn't any of these people be able to get a credit card?

BeIng in control over your finances to stop 20 quid going out is so much of an issue then 200 quid all in for wembley probably is too.
And And irrespective of that - your finances are your business - it doesnt change the fact that everyone knew the score when we decided to either join or not join the cup scheme. If you chose not to join the scheme - for whatever reason - you chose to jeopardise not being able to go a final because of not being able to afford 20 quid every month. It's as simple as that.

So it's a choice between committing to something you can't feasibly commit to, or jeopardising your chances of seeing your club in a cup final. As reward for 10 years plus commitment to the club, including numerous cup games (including this season).

That makes it a pretty shit choice to me, and as such it's a bad policy that needs changing IMO.

Not really because if you cant afford 20 quid a month then you wont be able to afford wembley either. I have sympathy if people are unable to afford 20 quid but if that is out of your price range then it's just not the club's fault.
However if they've had a season ticket for 10 years they'll have enough points to get one after the cup scheme window has finished.
There really is no problem.

As more and more sign up, if you don't join the scheme you won't get a ticket. As it is this season if we made it into the Europa League and got to the final it would have already been the case.
