FA Youth Cup Final - Chelsea v City - 27/4 7.45pm (ITV4) / tickets (merged)

What doubts are those?

just what i was wondering
As much as it pains me to say it, fully deserved win for Chelsea, but who knows what might have happened, had the Chelsea player been sent off, as he should have been, for that horrendous "tackle" on Jacob at 0-0.

Plenty to be optimistic about, especially the fact that several of the boys will still be eligible next season.

Things are coming together nicely at CFA.

i thought their first goal was a bit lucky tosin was tripped by the chelsea player and taken out

I thought City did well, a big bollock for their first goal (still the Chelsea player should of been pull up for the trip in the build up) the 2nd was a bit lucky I felt, ball bounce off his head more then he meant it, maybe could of been a different story if City wasn't so wasteful with the ball, ie to many slack passes and the wrong final ball, in the end, I think 3:1 flattered Chelsea

I think we were dragged into playing their game in both legs. We are trying to be 'professional' & not leave ourselves open to their tactical plan like last year, but actually it hss the opposite effect. As Cuntface said on commentary, Chelsea have been working on a detailed plan to stop us, even changing their formation to do it. We tried to plan against their plan wheras when we just went for the throat later, we looked like scoring with every attack.

Tactical is their thing, & they are much better at it. We have better footballers & need to unleash them. We weren't even getting the ball to Diaz, so concerned were we with trying not to lose it. Just meant we lumped it & lost it anyway.

Also the keeper stank again & the cf was avoiding taking any responsibility again. Not keen on either. Sancho & Dele Bashiru look the dog's bollocks though & Marcus Wood's defending was superb.

Great atmosphere apparently
It was about 60% care in the community, 20% tourist, and 20% rupert types where we were sat. Some very interesting "characters", many clearly on something non alcoholic, the weirdest football crowd I've ever sat in.

I thought our lads played some neat and tidy football, but they were much more direct, and thoroughly deserved their win, they look like footballers, we looked like kids.

I don't envy any of the poor sods who played in that weather, it was worse than miserable for at least an hour, I was surprised health and safety didn't intervene with some of the lightning, it being youth football. We left when the third went in to get the tube.

I thought that too, especially in the middle of the pitch, but they were just direct, and put us under pressure which eventually told on them mentally.

I think our passing was poor in both games which I feel may be down to us trying to be 'safe' and ironically the opposite happened.

When we beat them in the league game, we were 3-1 down. I don't think it's a coincidende we were better when we had nothing to lose.

"We have the better footballers" "Chelsea have been working on a plan to stop us" "We looked like scoring with every attack"---This is delusion of the greatest kind. Chelsea won, again, because they have the better players atm, individually & collectively, Chelsea could have been 5-0 up instead of 3-0.They looked twice as clinical in front of goal as us & they certainly created more chances.
Also I' think you'll find Chelsea U18's have a recent history of fearing no-one & never set out 'to stop' the oppo, on the contrary they set out to attack whoever they play & have a fantastic high scoring record of late. I noticed that the Chelsea coach took of a defender & brought on a striker during the 2nd half when they were leading 3-0 & went with 2 up front, this is not the mentality of a team trying to stop their oppo from playing.

When City beat them in the Lge recently, 4-3, it was 2 very different teams. Both clubs use very few players in both the Lge & FA Youth cup. The FA Youth cup has always been recognized as 'best on best' by clubs, whereas the U18 lge uses many more younger players, more 15 & 16 yr olds.
