A fully motivated Yaya (last season wasn't encouraging but it is time for a clean slate) is a better alternative to Pogba.

There is no way Yaya will get back to the level he was at. I was actually hoping signing Pogba might give him a kick up the arse but if we just end up with Delph he will seriously go into can't be arsed mode.

We need a Delph more than a Pogba.

We already have an abundance of attack-minded midfield options; we lost games last season because we surrendered the midfield scrap. Addressing that issue will go a long way to winning the title back.

Pogba is more Zidane than Vieira, despite the lazy, race-related comparisons, and has benefitted from having the mobile and industrious Marchisio next to him in the past 3 years.

Delph can become a Marchisio, or a Gattuso, who's grimy industrial approach glued Milan's midfield of Pirlo, Seedorf and Kaka together. Even at the very top level, you need your workhorses.
I agree.

These cunts don't know what their wives are up to. If you believe half of the shit they print/post, why don't you keep a log of it all? Come the end of the transfer window you will find that 99.9% of it was utter shit.

Bit aggressive - I know it's not nice to hear that we're probably not going to get Pogba but it's the consensus. chill.

I can see yaya being a last 30 mins player...with pogba in his current role for big games.

Maybe they can play together in lesser matches.

If you've been following the news most journalists with more inside knowledge haven't thought Pogba would come to City for weeks. Looks like he'll stay at Juventus for another season then go to Barcelona

Fukin hell mate
I got battered for saying as much on the Pogba thread

Whilst I agree on needing more scrap in midfield, Delph is no Gattuso though.

I just don't see him being an addition that will prove worthwhile.

Gattuso as a technical footballer was limited; Delph has a slicker passing game than him. But he was essential because he did the stuff Pirlo/Kaka couldn't/wouldn't do.

Fernandinho has been doing all the dirty work on his own for 2 years, and it took it's toll on his performances at times. Fernandinho-Delph with 4 super-talented players in front of them will provide the kind of balance that wins the biggest honours.

Delph can do the leg work

Hope the Lad does well for us. Must admit, I was one of those that were in the "no thanks" camp, however....8 mil for a homegrown english player that has had plenty on PL experience and will most definitely be keen too impress with the obvious step up of quality of players around him, should be interesting to see how he does next season in a better team. Still doubt he'll get massiveamounts of gametime though.

What was aggressive about that? For the record I wouldn't lose any sleep if we didn't sign him. Gullible whopper.
