I'm guessing he's way down the packing order and it would only be done at a fairly small (relatively) price. Wouldn't worry about it too much, that said I don't think he's that bad a player. I don't think he'd be anywhere near as bad as Scott Sinclair was for us for example, and he could be useful to us if he was happy to play a lesser role in the squad. Yes we want players of the highest quality but the reality is we need homegrown players too so we might have to accept bringing one or two in who aren't in the same league as your pogba's etc. If one or 2 like delph are brought in along with more players of higher quality, and if they can be useful to us and they won't rock the boat then we might have to accept that and it might not be that bad a thing

I'll take you at face value.
Delph will cost more than Roberts, and they play in different positions.
I'm thinking more Wilshere/Barkley, maybe even a Ward-Prowse.

The same applies. It's no wonder people doubt the Pogba deal will happen if we can't negotiate with the likes of Southampton, Arsenal or Everton.

there's a different between not being able to negotiate, and negotiating hard to get the best deal.
If we wanted Delph we could have agreed a deal for him to sign this summer for free as his contract was expiring.

Negotiating hard would be say looking at Kondogbia as a replacement and saying we are getting rid of Caballero to bring in Hennesey for a home grown player.
