Someone like Butland or if you want to go the other way and get experience Rob Green can do a job

Either is fine. Having a foreign spot used up by a keeper worse than Hart just cos he's one of Pellegrini's favourites is just ridiculous.

It made sense last year as Hart was a bit ropey the year before, but I'd have hoped we'd have been looking to move him on again now and stick someone HG there.

Exactly, for those supporting Caballero's spot as he "pushes Joe in training" why not even go for someone like Begovic who would do the same and is HG or just go for a standard backup HG 'keeper because Joe's not going to the bench anytime soon; even Rob Green.

Then with FFP sanctions gone why not go for Schniederlin for an extra £15m who would undoubtedly improve the squad and be an upgrade on Fernando at least. Signingng Delph would be compromising on quality for cheapness, and I'm not saying to go spend silly money for the sake of it but this summer with no sanctions and a willingness to spend big elsewhere would we really be limited to spending just £8m on an average HG player in a position we could improve in? Because again, imo, Delph is not a good player who happens to be going cheap. He'd be bought because he is cheap.

Agree on Schneiderlin.

On Begovic, he's moaned in the past when he's sat on the bench so he'd have to change his view for that to be an option.

We don't know what the budget is though, if getting Schneiderlin for an extra £15m suddenly means we can't get all 3 of Sterling/Pogba/De Bruyne, then is it worth it?

Having said that, we have so much budgeted for Pogba that it'd an odd one to push Delph through at this stage as if Pogba falls through we have more to spend elsewhere.

The deal makes sense especially as it's low as 8m. Got a lot good points has Fabian Delph, he isn't the best but he is an improvement on Fernando, Lampard and even could be an improvement on Milner ! Scneiderlin is 30M and Sterling is 50M remember !

The guy's obviously not Pogba-level but training and playing alongside world-class players week after week with City could make him a better player than we've seen. At 8m it's a huge bargain and I think he has the potential to add to our first-team.
