Maybe - Money is tight with our targets wanting more money than we originally planned and Delph is not a necessity at the moment. Save the 8m and up the sterling and de brune bids?

I'm not even sure sticking with this team is good for Delph's chances with England. They looked easily like relegation candidates again today and should be early favorites . I know it's just a pre season game but it was against a lower division side who looked better the entire game. Micah Richards still looks past it and he fell asleep in Villa's first goal given up, complaining to the ref and Villa go on to lose 3-1.

If another English player who hasn't been used yet performs half decent for a better side should easily take Delph's place if this is what he's running back to work with.

To be fair, though, do we ever look like potential title winners in pre-season?
 
That does seem like a logical possibility. I mean players don't usually have a medical unless everything is agreed. Unless reports of him having a medical yesterday were bullshit. I didn't see any pictures.

Not that i'm hugely arsed either way, but now that he's committed his future to Villa (haha) it's not such a bad idea to fuck this thread off and lock it.
 
Something strange has gone on, and I don't believe for a minute that the Villa heavy mob threatened him to stay. I mean what a pussy you must be if you gave into bullies like that. I'm hoping we've had positive news on Pogba and cancelled Delph's deal, because there's no way we would've needed both of them.
 
Isnt McCarthy pushing to get out of Everton? Something about contract promises not being met. Like Delph I like him as a player, but can't really see a move here being good for his career.
 
Very glad he's staying. All I've heard is that he had a change of heart.

Sutely he should be commended on his actions. He'd rather play football than sit on your bench.
