Fabregas

I'm all for Barca turning the bids down but for them to say to leave the player alone is so fucking rich.

I thought Moyes stated that when a buying club were told no ny the selling club that they should abide by that.

After all the sanctimonious crap he came out with when we bought Lescott would be great for a major national newspaper to find all his quotes and to question his principles now see this article

David Moyes labels Manchester City's pursuit of Joleon Lescott 'disgusting'

David Moyes's irritation with Mark Hughes erupted again yesterday when he accused Manchester City of seeking to destabilise Everton with their "disgusting" pursuit of Joleon Lescott.

"We have got a player who we really value and we want to keep. We think the world of him and he can play two positions. We don't want to lose him. Yet he is being continually put in a position like he is at this moment in time.

"It has not been handled correctly from over there (City)," he said.

---------------------

"We do not do our business in public, we would go to the right people to find out what is happening."

Moyes added that Lescott "has had his head twisted" as a result of the attention from City but reiterated his insistence that the player will not be leaving Goodison Park.

"He should get his head around that and get on with his career," added Moyes.

"I make the decisions, they have not talked to me and the player has been consistently told he is not for sale."

Moyes also admitted that the issue had hampered Everton's preparations for the new season and suggested this may have been City's intention.

"It has disrupted us," he said. "They have been talking about it and we have not been talking about the start of the season, that has been disruptive. So maybe that's what the overall plan was."

That was originally done by a guy called Olly over on RedCafe, he's a genius with gifs. Some of the stuff he came out with in the Thiago thread was pure gold.

Everton boss David Moyes has accused moneybags Manchester City of signing Joleon Lescott illegally - and claims they lack class.

Moyes is still seething about the £23million transfer of his centre-half and rapped City's behaviour in an attack that re-ignites the row.

He blasted: "There is no doubt Manchester City treated us with little respect and broke rules in the transfer of Joleon Lescott.

"I found it very difficult to accept that a club that had so many similarities to Everton should suddenly start acting with no class."

Moyes fumed at the way City made rising bids - and leaked the details in advance - to unsettle Lescott, who then asked to leave.
Anyone ever wondering why I hate the use of the words "class" and "respect" in a footballing context need only use that article as a reference point.

Edit: What Moyes said about (mainly) Fabregas yesterday:

"I think a point does come," said Moyes. "But when you are interested in good players you want to give it every opportunity to materialise.

"I will hope things will continue to move forward. At this moment in time I can only tell you Ed Woodward is working hard to try and make the deals happen. We hope some of them will fall into place shortly."

What a fucking hypocrite, not that anyone in the press will pull him up on it.

As much as I despise him was fergie the big draw at utd and not the club itself? It wasn't so long ago that they had the pick of the players round the world now they are getting snubbed left right and centre :-D
Long may gollum stay in charge if that is the case.

Fucking Gollum is the biggest hypocrite ever after what he said about us and our so called lack of class when we were after Lescott..

They are blatantly now doing the same when Barca have said he isn't going anywhere.

They will not be signing Fabregas,Bale or Ronaldo in this or the next window.

They (the scum) already know that fella, gotta keep on keeping on..

I think there's something amiss here. Why are we so publically revealing every step of the negotiations? Barca, it's players, staff and just about everyone else have said he's not for sale, so why are we continuing to dig ourselves into a hole? I just don't understand the thinking unless there is some indication from barca that a deal can be reached.
