What does it mean by fake news in this context ? I mean its a an opinion held by many that our owner is engaged in sports washing opinions are not news so how can they be fake news ? And our owner does have human rights issues and the UAE is involved in Yemen So they are facts ? So how is that fake news ?

I agree with most of this. It all depends on your definition of the word agenda. It is clear that Qatar and Abu Dhabi are involved in an information war so you could argue that Qatar has an agenda against Abu Dhabi which impacts on City. You could also argue that United and Liverpool have an agenda against City because of commercial and personal rivalries.
There have certainly been smear campaigns against City from various sources and a lot of skullduggery and corruption has been involved. It doesn't mean that all these campaigns are joined up. But what it does mean is that we have a lot of powerful enemies.
The Rags and Liverpool FC will take any opportunity to knife City in the back. For example I think it is very doubtful that these rival clubs were involved in the Rui Pinto hack but they have certainly enjoyed fanning the flames behind the scenes. LFC were certainly behind the letters to the Premier League and UEFA, and United have been pouring poison into journalists' ears about City for at least the last decade.

That is a very good post mate and I would agree with pretty much all of that.

With regards individual journalists, and an agenda, I do think some journalists do genuinely dislike us and our footballing model and that is reflected in their writing and even if we do good, they see a reason or motive to downplay us or our achievements.

It is not right of course, but for some it seems more digestible to believe the words are from a more sinister, orchestrated campaign than a collection of individuals who see the club so differently to how we view it.

It does not mean that those journalists do not need holding to account, they do, but the argument is more easily brushed a side when we start arguing wide scale agendas, collusion and finding fault with minuscule details in articles as evidence . In addition to probably losing the sympathetic ear of some journalists who have also been pigeon-holed as part of the problem.

Was that me? Sounds pretty close to my opinion. Use of the word artificially, was a bit clumsy, but I would have writing that from the medias perspective rather than my own outlook.

I think my view has hardened against some individuals in the media but still think, by being blues, we are conditioned Hence the reason we can see little good in United or Liverpool. Rivalries are entrenched and us reflected in our perspective.
